Women’s cricket has been rising with every passing day and it deserves more and more appreciation as well as support as the girls toil equally hard as their male counterparts and come up with impressive performances.

In the match between Sri Ma Vidyalaya Girls (Thane) and CNM School Girls (Vile Parle), CNM School opting to bat first were little aware about the batting collapse they were going to suffer in the hands of Niteel Negi. Niteel with her impressive spin came up with 5 wkts in a spell of just 24 balls while conceding just 7 runs and a maiden.  Niteel ran through the batters as she wrecked havoc bundling out CNM School for just 27 runs which was easily chased down by Sri Ma Vidyalaya winning the match by 10 wkts.

AXIS Mutual Fund opting to bat first at Oval Maidan managed to post a fightable total of 159/7 in 20 overs. Shriniwas Mourya at the middle order ensured his team reached a decent total as he scored an unbeaten 71* off 42 balls laced with 7 fours and 4 sixes.

Chasing 160, it was Sony’s reliable opener who is known for his attacking batting once again taking care of the chase. Pratik scored an unbeaten 85* off just 56 balls (12 fours, 2 sixes) at a strike rate of 150.00+ while he was supported well by all-rounder Anil Kushwah who remained not out on 42* off 35 balls  as Sony Pictures won the match with superlative ease by 9 wkts and 2.4 overs to spare.

(Anil was also the pick of the bowlers with 2/34 in 4 overs)

Andheri team opting to bat first at the All Saints Ground, Bhiwandi scored a massive total of 239/3 in 20 overs. Openers Manthan Panchal and Aniket Jain (34) gave a 78 run stand in just 7.4 overs while opener Manthan converted his start into an impressive 64 off just 36 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes).  Shehzad Mumkekar who came at no.3 batted till the end going on to score a majestic 87* off 38 balls. Shehzad smashed 6 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 228.02 which helped his team reach a good total.

Worli in reply managed to score only 173/7 in 20 overs despite a hurricane knock by Kirtiraj Kate who scored a hard fought 24 ball 53 (3fours, 6 sixes).  Manthan Panchal’s spell of 3/31 in 4 overs proved costly for the opposition as Andheri Team won the match by 66 runs.

Played between United Friends CC and Dahisar Sports Club at the Sunder CC Cross Maidan, United Friends SC after being made to bat first posted a target of 202/all out in 45 overs. Dishan Rane opening the innings scored an impressive 61 runs of 94 balls (8 fours, 1 six) despite lacking support from the other end.

Defending a total of 202 runs, left arm spinner Rahul Mishra came up with a match winning bowling spell bagging 5 wkts for 36 runs in 8.2 overs. Rahul ran through the opposition’s batting line up while he was supported ably by off-spinner Pratik Singh who took 3/23 in 7 overs as Dahisar Sports Club were all out for 153 runs.

United Friends SC won the match by 49 runs while it was good batting and bowling by the boys which helped them clinch a win.

Vicky Patil has been one of the most consistent batsman coming out from the IDBI Federal life Insurance team, in the last 2 years he has become the batting mainstay with his consistent scoring in the T20 Format. What’s more he had even recently won the Orange Cap in the Automotive Corporate Cricket Cap Leaders.

In the match vs JFS All Stars in the Jolly Friends Shivaji Park League 2018-19, IDBI Federal life Insurance after being made to bat first scored a total of 170/5 in 20 overs. Opener Vicky anchored the innings till the end as he went on to score a brilliant 101* off 59 balls. Smashing 8 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 171.29, Vicky not only kept the scoreboard ticking but also helped his team reach a competitive total.  JFS All Stars chased it down successfully with their openers giving a 132 run stand in just 15 overs. IDBI lost that match but Vicky was the shining factor coming out from the match.

In the match vs Tata International in the Jolly Friends Premier League at Matunga Railway Gymkhana, Tata International managed to score a modest total of 110/8 in 20 overs. For a experienced team like IDBI Federal life Insurance , it was just a mere formality as they chased it down in just 9.5 overs with opener Vicky once again doing his job perfectly smashing 70* off just 31 balls (4fours, 6 sixes) while he was supported well by Rohan Thakkar who scored an unbeaten 31* as IDBI Federal life Insurance won the match by 9 wkts and 10.1 overs to spare.

Held from 8th March 2019 to 10th March 2019 at Nagpur,Maharashtra. This tournament was organised by Sankalp Association & Paul Divyang Welfare Foundation with the support of Wheelchair Cricket Association Maharashtra & Disabled Sporting Society India. Around 80 wheelchair cricketers having physical disability upto 60% to 90% had participated in this tournament from across the country. All the 4 teams Gujarat, Uttarkhand, Delhi & Maharashtra fought well.

After winning the first match against Uttarakhand by 48 runs, Maharashtra team defeated Gujarat by 8 wickets & won 3rd match against Delhi by 9 wickets as they entered the finals of the tournament.

In final match of the tournament Uttarkhand won the toss & selected to bat first. In 20 overs match, Maharashtra team’s bowlers had cleaned up Uttarkhand team line up in just 18.1 overs and allowed them to score only 91 runs. Maharashtra team managed to chase the target of 92 runs in just 8.3 overs with loss of just 2 wickets. Maharashtra won the final match one sided by 8 wickets & bagged the trophy.

Maharashtra Wheelchair Cricket Team celebrated their “Hat Trick” of winning the national championships. They have previously been Winners of Indian Wheelchair Premier League held in June 2018 at Delhi. They have also won National Tournament in Uttarakhand in Dec. 2018. & now the “hat trick” by winning the The National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament held at Nagpur.

In the match between Central Bank and Saraswat Bank at the BMC Ground, Shivaji Park, Central Bank opting to bat first scored 177/4 in 20 overs. Left-handed opener Vaishnav Sail top scored with a 60 ball 90 (9 forus) propelling his team towards a good total.

Saraswat Bank chasing 178 were bamboozled for 97 runs thanks to their left arm spinner Ratan Sharma coming up with one of the best T20 spells taking a stunning 6 wkts in a spell of 24 balls with one maiden while conceding only 15 runs. His bowling spell also included a stunning hat-trick which added further damage to the opposition team.

In the match between ICICI and Dena Bank at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana, ICICI opting to bat first managed to score a modest total of 115/8 in 20 overs. Dena Bank chased down the score in mere 16.3 overs winning the match by 7 wkts.

Opener Sagar Chabbaria’s 34 ball 46 (4 fours, 1 six) was the highest score as he was declared ‘man of the match’

In the match between Bank of Maharashtra and Oriental Insurance, Oriental Insurance opting to bat first scored 119/9 in 20 overs. Opener Chinmay Mohite scored a brilliant 54 ball 63 laced with 7 fours despite lacking support from the other end. Bank of Maharashtra chased down the score in mere 16.2 overs winning the match by 10 wkts. Openers Ajit Yadav scored an unbeaten 56* off 47 balls (4 fours, 1 six) alongwith his partner Shlok (38*) ensuring a clean win for Bank of Maharashtra Team.

In the match between SBI and The New India Assurance at the Shivaji Park Ground, Gilchrist Prabhakar bowled a wonderful spell running through the SBI’s bowling spell coming up with 5 wkts for 11 runs in 4 overs. Off spinner Gilchrist was spot on with the ball restricting SBI to 117/9 in 20 overs.

New India Assurance chased down the score in just 18.2 overs winning the match by 5 wkts while Gilchrist was declared ‘man of the match’

In the match between Abhyudaya Sports Club and RBI, Abhyudaya Bank batting first at Shivaji Park Gymkhana posted a total of 123/7 in 20 overs. Satish Rane with a 42 ball 44 was the highest scorer. RBI in reply failed to keep up with the run rate managing to reach 112/9 in 20 overs.

In the match between IDBI Bank and Bank of India at the Shivaji Park Ground, Bank of India batting first scored a healthy total of 163/4 in 20 overs. Opener Vinit Sarang top scored with 54 runs off 37 balls. Chasing 164, BOI were fortunate to chase it down successfully thanks to a match knock by their opener Monu Chauhan.

Monu went on to score an aggressive 92* off 60 balls (7 fours, 1 six) anchoring the chase as IDBI Bank won the match by 6 wkts where in Monu was declared ‘man of the match’

Played between SVIS and VK Krishna Menon Academy at the MB Union Cross Maidan, SVIS opting to bat first scored 285/8 in 40 overs. Once again it was Ayush Vartak holding his team’s innings despite the other batsman failing to convert their starts into substantial scores. Coming at no.3, Ayush smashed a quickfire 105 off 80 balls (12 fours, 2sixes) followed by a half century in his previous outing.

VK Krishna Menon in reply managed to score 156/8 in 40 overs with skipper Ayush Vartak taking 3 wkts for 37 runs being the pick of the bowlers.

SVIS won the match by 129 runs with captain Ayush Vartak leading from the front.

 

Opening batsman Vikas Jaiswal representing ICICI sports club scored 100* in mere 62 balls with 9 fours and 1 six vs BEST sports club in the very prestigious corporate tournament of Mumbai i.e Insurance Shield Tournament.

Unbeaten Century in T20 format in such a big tournament is really a commendable effort by Vikas Jaiswal.

He was well supported by left handed Sanket Kashte who batted extremely well scoring 76*in just 47 balls with 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. Together they put on a crucial 179 run stand for the 2nd wicket.

Best team also started well with first 50 runs in just 7 overs but after introduction of off spinner Amit Rathore who bowled a brilliant spell of 4 overs for 18 runs in which he took 3 wickets, Best team failed to recover after that. He was well supported by left arm spinner Mayuresh Yadav who also bowled a classic spell of 3 overs giving away only 7 runs while bagging 2 wickets.

Credit of this victory should also goes to Skipper Jitesh Purabia who lead the side well plus bowled a decent spell of 3 overs and claimed 2 wickets.
