The Automotive Cricket Cap Leaders Campaign which is much like IPL Caps has been receiving great response from the cricketing community across various tournaments in Mumbai.
Cricketgraph team monitors performances of cricketers playing in various tournaments played by corporates on a monthly basis and awards Orange Cap for maximum runs, Purple cap for maximum wicket taker and Yellow Cap for the most popular cricketer based on facebook likes.
There were numerous entries across each categories and the competition was surely intense out of which 3 emerged out to be the winners in each category.
Here are the winners of the Corporate Cricket Cap leaders for March 2019.
Vijendra Yadav from Reliance Life Insurance Team (Winner of Automotive Purple Cap)
If there is one bowler who has taken a 2wkt haul, 3wkt haul as well as a 4 wkt haul in T20 format in the month of March 2019, it has to be all-rounder Vijendra Yadav. Vijendra who bowls slow left arm orthodox has not only been supremely economical with the ball but he has also been amongst the wickets. Yadav’s spell of 3/10 in 4 overs in the Pulse T20 Tournament to his stunning spell of 4/8 in 3 overs in the same tournament vs Welspun had helped his team Reliance Life Insurance win in a commanding manner. Yadav’s 2/24 vs ICAI in the Dreamz T20 was equally impressive to say the least.
It has been his consistent performance in the month of March that Vijendra Yadav went on to win the Automotive Purple Cap for the leading wicket taker.
2) Sanket Kankonkar from Deutsche Bank Team (Winner of Orange Cap)
Sanket is already a popular batsman in the corporate category thanks to his attacking style of batting which invites a lot of people who love watching him bat. Middle order right handed batsman Sanket when on song can take apart any bowler on any ground and some of his performances are a testimony to it.
Deutsche Bank in a match vs Bassein Catholic bank were struggling at one stage with 4 wkts down for under 20 runs and it was our very own Sanket hitting a magnificent 100* in 53 balls (8 fours, 8 sixes) helping Deutsche bank win from nowhere in the Dreamz T20 Tournament. Sanket’s 23 ball 46 vs CITI Bank in the T20 Masters Cup and a 31 ball 55 vs B4U in Dreamz T20 were equally entertaining where he displayed some amazing strokeplay.
It has been on the back of his match winning knocks in the month of March that Sanket rightly bagged the Automotive Orange Cap for the leading run-getter.
3) Arvind Sharma from IDBI Federal Life Insurance Team (Winner of Most Popular Player)
The popularity level of Arvind Sharma is completely at the next level when you pit him with his contemporaries who were nominated for the same. A whopping 767 votes for the right arm medium pacer surpassing his nearest competitor Vicky Patil by 503 votes is a very big margin.
The number of votes by which Arvind won is by far the best margin for a player since the time Automative Cricket Cap Leaders Campaign have began which is quite a feat to achieve!

Manthan Panchal – from Andheri Doctors Team (Winner of the Purple Cap)
Not only has been an effective bowlers, Manthan has proved to be a utility all-rounder for his Andheri Doctors team. If his performances in the Barku Patil T20 League are anything to go by, he is certainly one promising all-rounder who can be heavy on the opposition teams. Manthan’s 36 ball 61 along with 3/31 in 4 overs vs Worli had helped Andheri win the match in a commanding manner. Not just that, His 2/42 alongwith a 46 ball 62 vs Tata Hospital was equally a match winning performance rightly bagging the Automotive Purple Cap for the month of March 2019.

As we mentioned earlier too, Manthan apart from being a handy bowler has been equally effective with the bat too. His two half centuries in the month of march vs Worli and Tata Hospital had ensured clean wins for his team. It was his splendid performance with the bat which helped him win the Automotive Orange Cap for the month of March 2019.
Ajit Kalwar-from Mahim Doctors Team (Winner of Most Popular Player)
Ajit Kalwar certainly has a popularity amongst the doctors community as he won the most popular player cap in style with quite a margin. The left-arm bowling all-rounder from Mahim team had also recently bowled an economic spell of just 11 runs in 4 overs with 2 wickets while finished off the chase with 3 boundaries in his 4 ball 12* which played a crucial role in Mahim defeating Chembur . Ajit bagged a whopping 110 votes surpassing his nearest competitor Javed Khan by 7 votes winning the Automotive Yellow Cap for the most popular player for the month of March 2019.

Morning CC after electing to bat first at the Central Maidan in thane scored a respectable total of 287/10 in 44.5 overs. Opener Vicky Patil who has scored tons of runs past few seasons continues his splendid form as he went on to score an attacking 126 off 101 balls (12 fours, 7 sixes). Apart from him, Karan Naidu at no.4 scored 56 runs off 75 balls. Fast bowler Sahil Gode came up with a great spell taking 6wkts for 21 runs in 4.5 overs.
In a match where Morning CC batsman were found to be dominating Sahil was the only bowler who managed to give a tough time to the opposition batsman.
Salgaonkar CC in reply were all out for 195 runs lending a 102 run win to the Morning CC team. Rajesh with 4/26 and Prahlad Mokashi with 3/37 were the pick of the bowlers as Morning CC won a decider qualifying for the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Payyade SC after being put to bat first at Prabodhan Ground, Goregaon posted a massive total of 230/7 in 20 overs.
Despite openers sent back to the hut quite early, all rounder Parag Khanapurkar at no.3 resurrected the innings with a fine knock of 88 runs in 57 balls which had 7 fours and 9 sixes. Late cameos by Raunaq (41 off 22) and Aiswarya Surve (32 off 16) further pushed the team towards a big total.
Chasing 200+ in a T20 game is most of the times quite difficult but a great partnership by Sumit Ghadigaonkar (75 off mere 28 balls) and Gaurav Jathar (55 off 34 balls) ensured the team was very much in the game. What’s more Sumit’s knock consisted 8 sixes out of the 15 smashed in MIG’s innings.
Swapnil Salvi coming at no.5 provided further damage to Payyade’s hopes of winning as he smothered a 20 ball 51 as MIG CC won a thriller by 4 wkts and 5 balls to spare.
Greater Mumbai Police A after opting to bat first notched up a big total of 191/2 in 20 overs. Openers Sunil Patil (37) and Mayur gave a flying start of 78 runs while Mayur converted his good start into an anchoring knock of 66*in 60 balls laced with 5 boundaries and a six. Mayur smashed his 2nd back to back t20 fifty while the experienced Rohit Pol smashed a breath taking 32 ball 78 much to everyone’s delight pushing the team towards a big total. Both the batsman also stitched a crucial 103 run stand for the 2nd wicket.
Mumbai Port Trust who were at one point looking really good and giving tough fight were eventually all out for 180 runs with opener Shrikant top scoring with 60 runs. Swapnil Kulaye with 3/34 was the pick of the bowlers as Greater Mumbai Police A won the match by 11 runs and reach the all important finals of the tournament.
There is something about this girl which makes her stand apart from everyone, there is something inside her which makes her one of the very best batswoman at present in India. The way Jemimah has been piling on runs, it feels surreal to an extent and her consistency is something which can make even Virat Kohli sit back and notice!
After batting the whole 50 overs opening the innings and scoring an unbeaten ton in the quarter-finals, Jemimah is not done yet as this time she goes on to score her career best 185*. Mumbai after opting to bat first scored 263/4 in 50 overs and once again Jemimah scored more than half of the team runs. Throughout the tournament, she batted with composure but in the semis, she went all guns blazing playing aggressive taking mere 139 balls to score a scintillating 185*laced with 29 boundaries and 4 sixes.
Himachal in reply were bundled out for 125 runs, thanks to a majestic bowling spell by Saniya Raut. If Jemimah has been a force to reckon with the ball, Saniya has lead the bowling department bagging 24 wkts in 10 ODI’s and this being her 2nd five-wicket haul. Saniya’s spell of 5/19 in 7.2 overs was nothing short of a match winning bowling spell troubling the opposition with her accurate line and length.
Mumbai team won the match by 136 runs and qualify for the semi finals of the tournament.

Ruparel College after being put to bat first managed to muster up 125/7 in 20 overs which is somewhat a modest total. Openers Shivam and Kashish chipped in with 20’s while Manal Kawle remained unbeaten on 27* off 22 balls. From Rizvi, Alpesh, Sidak and Tanush chipped in with 2 wkts each.
Defending a low total, Ruparel bundled out the powerful Rizvi team which consisted many players of Mumbai and Ranji Trophy to just 95 runs in 15.3 overs. Fast bowler and man of the match Rishikesh Jadhav came up with sensational spell of 3/16 in 3 overs with a maiden while Kedar Sardesai came up with 3/16 in 3.3 overs.
Rishikesh speaking exclusively with Cricketgraph said- “We were sure the powerful Rizvi team which consisted of prolific players would take us lightly and we pounced on that opportunity and their approach giving our best in what was a combined team performance”
RIZVI Team post losing the match were certainly looking disappointed after being defeated by a team which mostly consisted players from the local level.
Ruparel won the semi-finals by39 runs and reach the finals of the tournament.

After opting to bat first at the TVM Cricket Ground, TVM Superstars notched up a healthy total of 258/10 in 44 overs. Opener Shivam scored 42 runs while Utsav Koti coming at no.6 came up with a game changing knock of 79 runs taking the team towards a competitive total.
In reply, TVM Superstars bowled out Chinchani Coaching Centre for just 152 runs in 34 overs thanks to some really tight bowling by the TVM bowlers. Ashley with 4/25 in 5 overs was the pick of the bowlers coming up with crucial breakthroughs as TVM Superstars won the semis by 106 runs where in Utsav Koti was declared ‘man of the match’ for his gritty 79. Now, finals will be played between Tvm superstars and Sainath Sports Club on 13th April 2019.
Rohidas Koyande with his fine all-round performance hogged the limelight and guided Datamatics Global Services Limited to an easy 10-wicket win over LIC of India Sports Club in a second round match of the Air India Invitation T20 tournament organized by Air India Western Region and played at the Air India ground, Kalina on Thursday.
Koyande took three wickets as LIC of India was dismissed for 77 runs in 19.2 overs. Later Koyande chipped in with unbeaten 49 runs to ensure his team surpassed the winning target without losing a single wicket.

In the match between, Podar College and Jhunjhunwala College at the Vengsarkar Academy, Jhunjhunwala after being put to bat first managed to muster only 130/8 in 20 overs. Podar College in reply chased down the score and won the match by 6 wkts and 1.1 overs to spare.
Opener Bhupen Lalwani scored a fine knock of 77* in just 60 balls hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes ensuring his team wins in a commanding manner.Bhupen has now scored as many as 9 tons in the last 5 or 6 months. He is scoring runs with dominance and consistency across all the formats across various tournaments.

In the other match between GN Khalsa College and Thakkur College at the Vengsarkar Cricket Academy, Khalsa Boys batting first posted a total of 138/9 in 20 overs. Opener Japjeet (27) and Akshay Majgaonkar (27) chipped in with 20’s while it was the handy 29* by Aditya Khanvilkar at no.9 which pushed the team towards a defend-able total.
Thakur College in reply managed to muster only 130/6 in 20 overs failing to keep up with the run rate against the tight bowling of Khalsa bowlers. Ninad Thakur (2/27 in 4), Aatif Shaikh (2/28 in 4) and Santh Vagal (1/25 in 4 overs) were the pick if the bowlers as Khalsa team won the match 46 runs
