This season ACC is working in association with Courtying Cricket Championship in loving memory of Founder member Advocate Prashant Patil . Adv. Kaustubh Gupte, organizing member of the ACC, said, “Though there have been many cricket tournaments for advocates and lawyers since the last 10 years, we plan to make ACC different . For starters, we will be having live coverage of all the matches. Every match will be shot on camera which will definitely encourage the players in the tournament. ACC will have live coverage and review this time. Every team would have one review during their innings. ACC will follow the new IPL rules wherein the team can be selected after the toss. Apart from this, we are working on adding value to the ACC with more technology support as well as greater visibility for players and sponsors alike.Sportslex our title sponsor has facilitated organising this event smoothly and in making it grand. ACC Season 1 Champions

Alongwith Adv. Kaustubh Gupte, Adv. Suraj Gupte, Adv. Sudarshan Patankar, Adv. Ninad Muzumdar, Adv. Vinay Dali, Adv. Chinmay Gaonkar, Adv. Girish Gaikwad and Adv. Jating Jamkhandi are the other members in the organizing committee. Senior Adv. Ravi Hirani and Adv. Aleem Shaikh have also extended their support for the smooth conduct of the ACC.

Despite Rishi Shah’s tremendous efforts, Sangam Sports Club were defeated by Islam Gymkhana. Sangam SC were bowled out for just 179. Rishi slammed 45 off 67 balls to help his team reach a respectable total. Apart from him, Vinayak Chougule score an unbeaten 45 down the order. Rishi bowled his heart out as well by claiming 6 wickets in 9 overs but as his overs ran out, Islam Gymkhana chased down the target with 2 wickets in hand. Openers Ishaque and Arpit scoring half centuries.

Skipper Samarth Seth had a tremendous outing for DDCA President XI against the Mayank Goswami CA (Jammu) in a T20 game. After electing to bat first, Mayank Goswami CA managed to pose a total of 148 in the first innings. Arya Suvansh playing an incredible knock of 67* off just 40 deliveries. Bhagwan Singh was the pick of the bowlers picking 2 wickets in his 4-over-spell for just 22 runs. Bhagwan Singh and Daurav Dagar claimed 2 wickets as well.

As the runchase began, Samarth lit the innings. Facing 56, the southpaw hammered an unbeaten 91 with a bombarding strike rate of 162.50. His comprised of 8 fours and 5 sixes. Seth played a captain’s knock by chasing down the target in the 19th over of the game.

Mumbai, March 30: Sports Promotion Group bowlers were a determined lot and confidently rose to the challenge to defend a low target. They picked up crucial wickets to snatch a tight 5-run win against Navaroz Cricket Club in a third round Group-B match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League, played at the MCA BKC ground on Wednesday.

Sent in to bat, Sports Promotion’s innings was restricted to a meager 115 runs for four wickets from their stipulated 20 overs. The top run scorer was opener Rashi Trivedi who made 25 runs, while Navaroz CC’s medium pacer Ruhee Pandekar took 2 wickets for 22 runs.

Later, a tremendous collective performance from the Sports Promotion bowlers triggered the collapse of the Navaroz batting which finished five runs short, as they were dismissed for 110 runs in 20 overs. Medium pacers Aarnavi Krishnan (3/21), Janhavi Murthy (2/15) and Vidisha Naik (2/21) and left-spinner Ruksha Patel (2/27) were responsible to ensure Sports Promotion clinched a narrow victory.

In a totally one-sided encounter, Dashing Sports Club inspired by the mesmerizing bowling spells from off-spinner Neelakshi Talati who claimed 5 wickets without conceding a run and left-arm medium pacer Vedhasi Patil who picked 4 wickets for just 8 runs defeated Vijay Cricket Club by 10 wickets.

Batting first, Vijay CC were bowled out for a measly 25 runs and Dashing SC quickly scored 29 runs without losing a wicket to complete the win.

Meanwhile, in an interesting match, Sporting Union Club prevailed over Shivaji Park Youngsters SC by a comfortable 40 runs. Sporting Union Club scored 135 for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Juili Bhekare 30 runs, Vaibhavi Jadhav 24 runs and Rishita Chaugule 20 runs contributed to the total, while Shivaji Park bowler  Manasvi Ajgaonkar claimed 4 wickets for 26 runs. Later, Shivaji Park Youngsters SC were bundled out for 95 runs in 20 overs. Vaidai Tanavade 34 top-scored with 34 runs while Riya Patel took 2 wickets for 8 runs to help Sporting Union finishing on a winning note.

In other matches, Regal CC defeated Indian Dynamite CC by a close 11 runs, Bharat CC registered a thumping 137-run win against B.V. Kamath Memorial CC and Prime Group CC romped to a fluent 8-wicket win against Apollo CC.

Brief scores: Vijay CC 25 all out, 8.2 overs (Neelakshi Talati 5/0, Vedhasi Patil 4/8) lost to Dashing SC 29 for no loss, 3.6 overs. Result: Dashing SC won by 10 wickets.

Sporting Union Club 135 for 7, 20 overs ((Juili Bhekare 30, Vaibhavi Jadhav 24, Rishita Chaugule 20; Manasvi Ajgaonkar 4/26) beat Shivaji Park Youngsters SC 95 all out, 20 overs (Vaidai Tanavade 3; Riya Patel 2/8). Result: Sporting Union Club won by 40 runs.

Regal CC 105 for 8, 20 overs (Janvi Nandrajog 22; Priyadarshini Singh 2/7, Mugdha Manesh Parte 2/18) beat Indian Dynamite CC 94 all out, 18.4 overs (Jetsun Chee 26; Gauri Manjarekar 3/13, Savita Pal 3/18). Result: Regal CC won by 11 runs.

Bharat CC 220 for 2, 20 overs (Sulakshana Naik 81, Diksha Manjrekar 37) beat B.V. Kamath Memorial CC 83 for 7, 20 ((Chaitali Gurav 32; Mansi Kedar 2/9). Result: Bharat CC won by 137 runs.

Apollo CC 75 for 9, 20 overs (Aarti Yadav 3/11, Purti Jain 3/17) lost to Prime Group CC 76 for 2, 12 overs (Gauri Bajiraj 39). Result: Prime Group CC won by 8 wickets.

Sporting Club Committee Thane 85 for 5, 20 overs lost to Payyade Sports Club 86 for 1, 9.4 overs (Ayushi Singh 34*, Hurley Gala 22). Result: Payyade Sports Club won by 9 wickets.

Dombivili CC 79 for 7 wickets, 20 overs (Sanika Khairnar 23, Rhehi Rane 21) lost to Sportsfield CC 83 for 3, 8.1 overs (Shaheen Razak 68*; Sanika Khairnar). Result: Sportsfield CC won by 7 wickets.

Mumbai, March 29: A solid century knock from Riya Chaudhari, who scored an unbeaten 113 runs, and the testing medium pace bowling effort from Swarali Kudtarkar, who picked 6 wickets for 16 runs inspired Fort Youngsters to register a massive 251-run victory against Shantibhai Sheth Memorial CC in the third round Group-A match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League, played at the MCA BKC ground on Wednesday.

Choosing to bat first, Fort Youngsters batted aggressively and piled up a mammoth total of 274 for 1 wicket from their 20 overs. Besides Riya’s stupendous innings, Mansi Patil struck and unbeaten 75 runs after Janhvi Kate was dismissed for 51 runs. Later, Shantibhai Sheth batswomen were unable to negotiate the disciplined bowling of Swarali and were dismissed cheaply for a measly 23 runs in just 10 overs.

In a closely fought match, Bhiwandi Taluka CA defeated Yogi CC by a narrow 23-run margin. Batting first Bhiwandi Taluka reached a modest total of 120 for 4 wickets from the quota of 20 overs. The main batters who lifted the total were Pranjal Malekar 38 runs, Manasvi Jadhav 21 runs and Shefali Wakkar 20 runs. Later, Yogi CC was restricted to just 97 runs in 18.3 overs. Naivedya Bangera was unbeaten on 30 runs, while Bhiwandi Taluka bowlers Abigail Naik 4 for 6, Sameeksha Thorat 2 for 12 and Tanvi Chavan 2 for 19 claimed the wickets.

In one-sided encounters, Glorious CC defeated MIG Cricket Club by a convincing 10 wickets in a Group-H match and Matunga Gymkhana recorded a convincing 10-wicket win against Dadar Parsee Colony SC in a Group-G match.

Bhiwandi Taluka CA 120 for 4, 20 overs (Pranjal Malekar 38, Manasvi Jadhav 21, Shefali Wakkar 20) beat Yogi CC 97 all out, 18.3 overs (Naivedya Bangera 30*; Abigail Naik 4/6, Sameeksha Thorat 2/12, Tanvi Chavan 2/19). Result: Bhiwandi Taluka CA won by 23 runs.

MIG CC 109 for 9, 20 overs (Mehek Mistri 70; Samruddhi Ghare 4/16, Karuna Sakpal 2/5, Jaya Negi 2/16) lost to Glorious CC 110 for no loss, 15.4 overs (Sai Sadhavi 47*, Ira Jadhav 46*). Result: Glorious CC won by 10 wickets.

Mandavi Muslims SC 122 for 3, 20 overs (Kashvi Hosalkar 35*, Sharvari More 34) beat Rocket CC 86 for 4, 20 overs (Jagruti Bhoi 32). Result: Mandavi Muslims won by 36 runs.

Dadar Parsee Colony SC 126 for 3, 20vers (Riya Pawar 52*, Kasturi Govilkar 27*, Riya Doshi 21) lost to Matunga Gymkhana 128 for no loss13.5 overs (Vaibhavi Raja 49*, Gargi Bandekar 46*). Result: Mayunga Gymkhana won by 10 wickets.

Mumbai: E-Merck Cricket Club’s steady all-round team efforts enabled them to register a 5-wicket win against New India Assurance Sports Club in the Elite Division final of the 11th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association), and played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground, on Monday.

Earlier, in the Plate Division final, Group Satellite CC recorded a convincing 53-run victory against Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) CC to claim the top honours.

Sent in to bat first, New India Assurance batsmen struggled and could only manage to score 127 runs for 9 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Middle order bat Manish Yadav 46 (44-balls, 4×4,1×6) and Sumit Mishra 21 runs were the only two batters who managed to get some runs on the board. E-Merck’s left-arm spinner Shreyas Keskar was the pick of the bowlers and claimed 4 wickets for 19 runs.

Chasing a modest total, E-Merck easily surpassed the winning target making 130 runs for the loss of five wickets in 18.1 overs. Leading E-Merck charge to victory was number 5 bat Abhishek Srivastava who was unbeaten on 31 runs (25-balls, 3×4). Earlier, opener Opener Harsh Rane 29 runs (23-balls, 4×4,1×6), Prateet Gotsure 29 runs (30-balls, 3×4) and Vaishnav Sai an unbeaten 16 runs (9-balls, 3×4) carried the team past the finish line. Rahul Kankarwal 2 for 16 was the most impressive NIA bowler.

Earlier, BARC elected to bowl first but were unable to contain the Group Satellite batsmen who amassed a challenging total of 165 for 4 wickets from their 20 overs. Opener Deepak Gaikwad cracked a 56-ball 82 runs with 7 fours and 3 sixes and his opening partner Suraj Sharma contributed a 35-ball 36 runs (3×4,1×6) to lift the total. Later, Shameet Shetty smashed a quick 16 runs from just 7 balls with 2 powerful sixes to further boost the score. Left-arm spinner Samadhan Kahandal (2 for 27) was the best BARC bowler.

In reply, BARC batsmen found the going tough and their innings folded for a measly 112 all out in 19.3 overs. Middle order bat, Sagar Kawankar top-scored with 33 (34-balls, 2×4,2×6). Group Satellite’s medium pacers Mohammed Shaikh 3 for 13, Kavaldeep Anand 2 for 19 and Suraj Sharma 2 for 21 along with left-arm spinner Shameet Shetty 2 for 32 picked up the wickets.

MCA Joint Secretary Deepak Patil and Hon. Treasurer Arman Mallick, both congratulated all the participating teams and Oriental Assurance for successfully organizing this tournament and assured them that MCA will always support the tournament.

Mumbai, March 23: Giant-killers Bohra Cricket Club dished out another domineering and impressive performance and inflicted a crushing 48-run defeat on Souvenir Cricket Club in the final of the 73rd Nawab Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Islam Gymkhana under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the Islam Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Thursday.

Electing to bat, Bohra CC posted substantial runs on the board as they were dismissed for 167 runs from their quota of 20 overs. Opening batsmen Sahil Gode 43 runs (20-balls, 8×4,1×6) and Japjeet Randhawa 42 runs (31-balls, 4×4,2×6) provided Bohra CC with a good start as they put together 61 runs for the first wicket in 5.2 overs. Later Randhawa and Om Keshkamat who smashed 42 runs (28-balls, 3×4,3×6) added 42 runs for the third wicket to lift the total. Souvenir CC’s left-arm medium pacers Hussain Raza 2 for 18, Atif Attarwala 2 for 23 and Irfan Umair 2 for 42 picked up the wickets to restrict the opposition batters from amassing a huge total.

Chasing an achievable winning target of 168, Souvenir CC batsmen were tormented by the wily Bohra CC off-spinner Himanshu Singh (4 wickets for 30 runs) and their innings closed at 119 for 8 wickets from their stipulated 20 overs.

The Souvenir CC innings started shakily as they lost three quick wickets with just 17 runs on the board inside the first three overs. But, later Souvenir CC’s top-order batter Nikhil Patil 34 runs (34-balls, 2×4) and middle-order bat Sujit Nayak 34 runs (30-balls, 4×4) put the innings back on track with a 64-run fourth wicket partnership. Later, Ankeet Chavan 21 runs tried his best to keep Souvenir CC’s hopes afloat, but the other batsmen failed to play good supporting roles and they ended on the losing side. Besides Singh’s  fine bowling spell, Jahangir Ansari claimed 2 wickets for 17 runs to seal Bohra CC’s victory.

Chief Guest, Kenia Jayantilal, a former Indian cricketer, presided over the Prize Distribution function and presented the trophies and cash awards to the champions and the runners-up teams. The champions Bohra CC received the Nawab Salar Jung Trophy and a cash prize of Rs one lakh, while the runners-up received the runner-up trophy and a cash prize of Rs 75,000.

There was more cheer for Bohra CC team as Sahil Gode for his 43 runs won the ‘Man of the Final’ award, while the ‘Best Batsman of the Tournament’ prize went to Japjeet Randhawa – 205 runs (1 century 106 runs) and ‘Best Bowler of the Tournament’ prize went to Himanshu Singh  – 12 wickets, 4 matches. All three received trophies and cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each.

Mumbai, March 20: Bohra Cricket Club and Souvenir Cricket Club, both produced some solid all-round performances and comfortably won their respective semi-final matches in the 73rd Nawab Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Islam Gymkhana under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the Islam Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Monday.

Bohra CC who were restricted to a low total of 142 all out in 19.3 overs fought back strongly and bowled out Muslim United Cricket Club for 77 runs in 14.4 overs  to clinch a deserving 65-run victory in the first semi-final.

Later, Souvenir CC charged to a 9-wicket win against Modern Cricket Club in the second semi-final. Chasing a winning target of 178 runs, Souvenir CC opening batsmen were aggressive as Gautam Waghela smashed an unbeaten 90 runs and Eknath Kerekar scored a quick 80 runs to steer their team to a big win.

Brief scores: Bohra CC 142 all out in 19.3 overs (Ravindra Sante 41 (47-balls, 4×4,2×6), Omkesh Kamath 20; Atish Anand 3 for 21, Parikshit Valsangkar 3 for 28) beat Muslim United CC 77 all out, 14.4 overs (Ruturaj Sane 30, Siddhant Aadhatrao 29; Himanshu Singh 3 for 7, Jahangir Ansari 3 for 17). Result: Bohra CC won by 65 runs.

Modern CC 177 for 9 wickets, 20 overs (Shubham Punyarthi 55, Varun Lavande 38, Arman Shaikh 27; Hussain Raza 5 for 17) lost to Souvenir CC 178 fort 1 wicket, 16.3 overs (Gautam Waghela 90*, Eknath Kerekar 80). Result: Souvenir CC won by 9 wickets.

Arpit Dharve displayed his stunning consistency with the bat in the Summer Vacation Shield organised by MCA. In 3 games so far, Arpit has amassed 265 runs for Islam Gymkhana. In the first game against EMA Cricket Club, Arpit slammed 129 as he opened the innings, helping his team reach 330 in just 45 overs. In the second game, the opener played a sensible knock of 73 helping his team chase down the target of just 136 against Catholic Gymkhana. As the bowler bowled out Sangam SC for 179 in the 3rd round, Dharve was quick to reciprocate the efforts by scoring 62 and forming a match winning partnership with his opening partner.

With an impressive average of 132, Dharve helped his team qualify and win superb games.

In the onging first ever MCA womens T20 league, Off spinner Neelaskhi ended up with unbelievable bowling figures. She bowled 1.2 overs and picked up 5 wickets for Dashing Sports team. The other end of the wicket was dominated by Vedhasi who ended up with 4 overs and 4 wickets. 

This bowling duo’s peroformance ensured the opponent team, Vijay CC was bundled out for 26 runs! 

Dashing Sports team batters chased down this target in 4 overs for no loss.
