U16 Kalina Center after opting to bat first at Ours CC Ground notched up a heavy total of 376/9 in 65.1 overs. Openers Jash Ganiga (74) and Angkrish (46) gave a solid opening stand of 123 runs while Shashwat Jhunjhunwala coming at no.4 top scored in the match hitting a fluent 92 off 81 balls (15 fours , 2 sixes). Late cameos by Umar Khan (57 off 45) and Aman Shaikh (48 off 54) ensured Kalina Center had a big total in hand.
Kalina Center apart from having good batsman also have an added advantage of having two really promising spinners in their unit as they restricted PDTSA for just 93runs in 36 overs. Left-arm spinner Zenith Sachdev who is hailed by many as one of the spinners to lookout for bowled to perfection coming up with envious bowling figures of 7/35 in 10 overs with 3 maidens.

Recieveing a follow on, PDTSA were bundled out for 118 runs and this time it was off spinner Khush Jain getting the better of the batsman with impressive bowling figures of 5/47 in 13.5 overs. Zenith Sachdev was again nothing but impressive taking 4/18 with 6 maidens in 10 overs as both the spinners propelled Kalina Center to innings win and 165 runs.
Borivali CC after opting to bat first at the Sunder CC, Cross Maidan posted a big total of 310/6 in 45 overs. The top order chipped in with 30’s while it was the middle and lower middle order coming good for Borivali CC. Rakesh Naik coming at no.6 led from the front hitting a brilliant 96* in just 81 balls, his innings included 3 fours and 7 sixes much to the entertainment of the viewers. Naik also got great support from Himanshu Sonthalia who came at no.8 and scored a brilliant 62* runs off just 36 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes). Both Rakesh and Himanshu stitched an unbeaten 151* run stand for the 7th wicket which is the highest partnership for 7th wicket this season. Off-spinner Mandar Nalavde with 4/42 was the pick of the bowlers.

Gallant CC in reply were bundled out for 161 runs as Borivali CC bowlers ensured a tough life for them while chasing. Reliable and consistent left-arm spinner Vishal Kavaiya again was impressive with the ball taking 4/27 in 7.5 overs.

Borivali CC won the quarter-finals by 149 runs on the back of some great individual performances.
Into the Quarter-finals stage of the tournament, it was an exciting clash between Mohan CC and Hansoty Brothers.
Hansoty Brothers after opting to bat first at Oval Maidan were reduced to just 126 runs thanks to some really tight bowling by the Mohan CC bowlers. Left arm fast bowler Fazil Mukadam bowled an excellent spell of 4/9 in 5.4 overs with 2 maidens becoming the pick of the bowlers. Sagar Khatri with 3/36 was also quite effective with the ball.
Mohan CC in reply chased down the score in just 25.4 overs and won the match by 5 wkts. Opener Prashant Yadav scored a solid 43 providing a good start while Ameya Dighe scored 33 as Mohan CC reach semis of the Kanga Knockout Tournament. Bhavin Bansal from Hansoty brothers fought it hard coming up with a fighting spell of 5/39 in 9 overs but Mohan CC eventually emerged to be victorious.

Into the 3rd T20 league round for girls, Sulonia Cricket Academy after opting to bat first posted a decent total of 121/5 in 20 overs. They had their batsman chipping in with everyone providing cameos to ensure the team reaches a decent total.
Yuva Multi Sports Dombivali in reply failed to keep up with the run rate of almost 6 runs per over which rose to almost 10 in the death overs. The bowlers did a terrific job with Ishawri Gaikwad’s 2/7 in 3 overs alongwith a maiden being the best bowling figures in the match.

Sulonia Cricket Academy won the match by 53 runs while Ishwari Gaikwad for her all-round performance of 22 runs in 29 balls (3 fours ) and 2wkts was declared “man of the match”
U16 Virar Center “A” after opting to bat first at the Dadkar Maidan notched up a total of 314/10 in 69.4 overs. Opener Tanish Meher (67) and Ayush Vartak stitched a match winning 172 run stand for the 2nd wicket. Ayush fell short of just 3 runs in what was a classy knock of 97 runs in 113 balls. Dominating the bowlers upfront, Ayush smacked 18 boundaries while Parth Naik (48) and Khush Yadav (38) down the order ensured the team crossed the 300 run mark.
Shivaji Park team in reply were bundled out for 149 runs with Ayush leading from the front with the ball too. Ayush with his off spin bagged 5/47 in 14 overs taking wickets at regular intervals. Receiving a follow on, Shivaji Park Center batted well in the 2nd innings batting for 27 runs while losing just 2 wkts for 121 runs before the end of the game’s play.

Virar Center A won the match on 1st innings while it was Ayush winning hearts with his all-round heroics.

After being put to bat first and both the openers out for ducks, it seemed for a moment that everything was working out for Speed Cricket Academy team. However, Ashay Sardesai coming at no.3 alongwith Gaurav Jathar at 4 stitched a match winning stand of 137 runs for the 3rd wicket. Aashay scored a polished knock of 83 in just 53 balls (7 fours, 3 sixes) while Gaurav Jathar scored a solid 68 off 50 balls (8 fours , 1six). Quick cameos by wicket-keeper batsman Sumit Ghadigaonkar (23 off 8) and Atul Singh (16* off 3) ensured Eknath Shinde CC reached a total of 199/6 in 20 overs. The bowlers were taken for a beating in the death overs with Ajay Sharma’s 3/41 being the best bowling figures.
Speed C.A in reply failed to keep up with the run rate reaching only 137/6 in 20 overs. They had their batsman chipping in with 20’s but none proved to be effective. Hemant Buchade (2/22 in 4 overs), Atul Singh (2/30 in 4 overs) & Aashay Palkar (1/18 in 3 overs) were the pick of the bowlers.

Match 2-Eknath Shinde CC – A vs Golden Star CC
Eknath Shinde CC after electing to bat first registered a total of 190/3 in 20 overs. Akhil Herwadkar opening the innings led from the front hitting an aggressive 74 off 48 balls (10 fours, 1 six). The rest of the batters chipped in with cameos as their team reached a very competitive total. Mahesh Jogale with 3/44 in 3 overs was expensive but the pick of the bowlers for Golden Star team.
Golden Star CC in reply were bundled out for just 143 runs as the opposition bowlers proved to be quite difficult. Golden Star team lacked a batsman who could score 50-70 odd runs as they kept on losing wickets after giving starts. Shashikant Kadam (2/14 in 4 overs), Akhil Herwadkar (3/17 in 2 overs) and Prasad Patil (2/31 in 4 overs) were the pick of the bowlers resulting in a commanding win.

Elite cricketer’s schedule demands regular travelling for matches who live in hotels and out of suitcases. This can pose a number of challenges to meeting nutritional needs. Limited food availability, different standards of food hygiene, wrong timings, quantity of food, unfamiliar foods, and interference with usual routines can see cricketers either, gaining weight, facing problems in the game/training or failing to meet their nutritional requirements.
And therefore, as a Sports Nutrition expert, I guide cricketers for making healthier choices and do easy to do nutritive meal preps when on tours. For cricketers on tour and travelling in hectic schedule, the following tips may help achieve their dietary goals:
- Prioritize and be clear about your nutritional goals and stay committed while travelling.
- Do some prior investigation to find out what to expect at your destination.
- Pre-organising your accommodation with meals and cooking facilities gives you more control over your meals, helps you make healthier choices and can keep food costs down. If you choose not to cook, make sure your accommodation is conveniently located near shops and restaurants.
- Food safety and hygiene should be major concern as it may lead to stomach upsets.
- Take a stock of healthy foods with you so you always have access to something suitable. Breakfast cereal Protein bars, nuts, basic supplements, sports drinks, and fruits are good options to pack.
- Try sticking to the meal options in the nutrition and make good choices in restaurants. Beware of hidden fat, added sugars, about cooking methods and ingredients in restaurant meals. Be free to ask the waiter and request changes if necessary.
- Beware of the weather conditions of the match venue and carry super foods accordingly.
- Beware of the banned substances that might be used by someone else which might get added to your meal preps.

Mumbai Police B after being put to bat first notched up a total of 150/6 in 20 overs which is quite defendable. Opener Rohan Bhosale top scored with the bat hitting a crucial 51 off 39 balls (5 fours) at a time when other batters were struggling. Late cameos of by Yogesh Patil (27 off 15) and Yogesh Sawant (23 off 13) ensured Mumbai police crossed the 150 runs mark. Bhushan Patil with 3/32 was the pick of the bowlers.
HPCL in reply failed to keep up with the run rate managing only 96/10 in 18 overs. Kailash Kolekar came up with a match winning bowling spell of 5/19 in 4 overs which made life difficult for the batsman. Kailash was spot on with the ball taking wickets at regular intervals as Mumbai Police B won the match by 54 runs.
KC Gandhi High School after being put to bat first at Union Cricket Academy Ground in Kalyan managed to post a moderate total of 119/3 in 20 overs. Despite wickets in hand, they found it difficult to attack in the death overs. Karan (35*) and Prathamesh Patil (19*) with their quick cameos ensured atleast a respectable total for KC Gandhi. PAB bowlers really did an impressive job coming up with economical and tight bowling spells. Darshan Rathod (1/25 in 4 overs), Pranay Shinde (0/21 in 4 overs) and Daksh Patil (0/20) were particularly impressive not allowing the batsman to free their arms.
PAB Cricket Academy in replay chased down the score in 19.4 overs winning the match by 5 wkts. Their openers put up a 65 run stand with opener Raj Patil contributing the bulk of the runs and remaining unbeaten on 44* off 62 balls. On a wicket which supported the bowlers more from both the teams, it was certainly difficult to score runs but a calm knock by Raj ensured his team crossed the victory line with ease.

Boys Cricket vs Sportsman CC
Sportsman CC after opting to bat first were not able to post a big total on the board getting all out for 105 runs with opener Shubham’s 22 being the highest score. The bowlers were quite impressive with Shreyas Kulkarni coming up with the best spell so far of season 9 taking 4/14 in 4 overs. Yash Singh with 3/12 in 3 overs and a maiden was equally impressive.
Chasing 106 was a mere formality as Boys CC chased it down in 11.5 overs winning the match by 8 wkts. Sachin Yadav who remained unbeaten on 36* finished the match in style with a six. Shreyas Kulkarni for his effective spell of 4/14 was declared “man of the match”

Benetton CC after being put to bat first put up a total of 183/5 in 20 overs which is quite a competitive total. Wicket-keeper batsman Sanjay Sansare top scored smashing an impressive 82 off 54 balls at no.3 (8 fours, 3 sixes) while Ketan Patil’s blazing 20 ball 51 at no.6 which had 5 sixes propelled the team towards a healthy total. Ketan’s 20 ball 51 also becomes the fastest fifty so far in this season of TPL.
DSCA TPL in reply managed to reach only 163/9 in 20 overs thanks to some tight bowling by the Benetton bowlers. Pranav Dhanavade (46 off 30 balls) and Shashank Jadhav (43 off 30) were looking dangerous at one point but Rupesh Tiwari (2/27 in 4 overs) and Rahul Solkar (2/32 in 4 overs) came up with crucial spells as Benetton CC won the match by 20 runs while Sanjay Sansare was declared ‘Man of the match”
