Sobo Supersonics after batting first at Wankhede were off to a patchy start with the top order not able to make much of an impact. However, Parag Khanapurkar played the rescue act hitting a 40 ball 45 to infuse some life into the innings. Khizer Dafedar’s late burst of 33* in just 18 balls further made things better for SOBO as they managed to reach a defendable total of 143/6 in 20 overs. Nehal katakdhond was impressive with the ball being the pick of the bowlers with his spell of 3/17 in 4 overs.
Chasing 144, the openers fell early but Akarshit Gomel did try to play the anchors role with his hard fought 43 but he lacked support from the other end as none of the batsman below him could cross the 20 run mark. Left arm spinner Dhrumil Matkar bowled a game changing spell of 3/28 in 4 overs while he was supported well by the other bowlers especially Khizer who conceded mere 15 runs in 4 overs and also bagged a wicket.
Aakash Tigers eventually managed to reach a total of 133/7 as Sobo Supersonics clinched a win by 11 runs.

Into the all important finals at the Union Cricket Academy KDMC Ground in Kalyan, Boys Cricket Club A after being put to bat first registered a decent total of 133// in 20 overs. Openers Rohan Karandikar and Ayush Patil stitched a 133 run stand almost batting the whole quota of 20 overs together. Rohan smashed 55 off 51 balls (7 boundaries) while Ayush scored a solid 56* off 62 balls (6 fours).
PAB Cricket Club Bhiwandi certainly found it difficult to get going on a wicket which was surely not easy for quick hitting. Even though wickets in hand, some tight bowling from Boys CC bowlers ensured they were restricted to just 112/4 in 20 overs. Jay Bhanushali with 2/20 in 4 overs was the pick of the bowlers while the rest of the bowlers also came up with economical spells.

With wickets falling at regular intervals Shivaji Park Lions were off to a mixed start with opener Swapnil Pradhan scoring a 33 ball 44. With scoreboard reading 86/5 at one stage in the 13th over, they required someone who could up the ante and Raunaq Sharma just delivered at the right moment hitting a brilliant 51* off 30 balls (3 fours, 4 sixes) pushing the team towards a respectable total of 159/6 in 20 overs. On the back of sharma’s half century, Shivaji Park Lions were able to score 73 runs in their last 7 overs.
Left arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla proved his worth and experience with the ball as he came up with envious bowling figures of 2/16 n 4 overs. Salil Agharkar despite going wicketless was quite impressive in his spell of 0/24 in 4 overs.
Chasing 160, opener Akhil who smashed a match winning half century in his previous outing changed the gears this time showing he can play according to the situation the game demands. The left hander went on to score a brilliant 79* in just 58 balls (9 fours , 3 sixes) at a time when wickets were falling from the other end.
The match which went into the last over again was finished in style by Akhil as he plonked the 2nd last ball for a sixer helping Arcs Andheri win the match 4 wkts.

While skipper Shaw played an aggressive knock hitting 53 off 31 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes), it was Auti who played the anchors role batting till the 16th over en-route his 41 ball 51. Vikrant who was the highest run getter in Times Shield 2017 also smashed 3 double centuries in 2018 edition just showing the ample amount of experience he possesses at the top of the order. North Mumbai Panthers at the end of the 20 overs reached a total of 175/8 in 20 overs. From the bowlers- spinners Sujit Nayak with 2/23 in 4 overs and Aditya Dhumal with 2/29 in 4 overs were the pick of the bowlers.
Namo Bandra Blasters who were 21/5 at one stage thanks to some brilliant opening spells by the Mumbai Panthers bowlers got back into the game with some hard fought innings by Sujit (29), Siddarth Chitnis (50*) and Aditya Dhumal (38) but still they were far away from the total reaching 148/7 at the end of the 20 overs. Left arm pacer Atif Attarwala who has a brilliant bowling action coupled with seam and swing has been impressive in the tournament once again being the pick of the bowlers with 3/34 in 4 overs. Experienced Spinner Rahul Sawant with 2/15 in 4 overs was equally impressive with the ball.
Namo Bandra Blasters won the match by 27 runs on the back of their good opening partnership coupled with some really tight bowling by Atif and Rahul.

The top order chipped in with 20’s and 30’s but it was Devavrat coming at no.7 and changing the game with his brilliant 65 off just 40 balls. His innings included 10 fours and a six at a strike rate of 162.5 as Salgaonkar team reached a healthy total.
Chasing 248, SK Cricket Academy Lonavala were bundled out for just 68 runs in 18.4 overs. Arpit Desai bowled a wonderful spell of 3/5 in 2 overs while Ayush Parab with 2/6 in 1.4 overs was the 2nd best of the lot.
Salgaonkar Sports Club Thane won the match by 179 runs while Devavrat who scored 65 runs and also took a wicket was declared ‘man of the match’

Raju Rane Sports Academy after being put to bat first mustered an average total of 116/6 in 20 overs. Opener Rohan Karandikar top scored the innings with 42 runs while the rest of the batsman struggled to make big scores. From the bowlers, Darshan Rathod with 2/14 in 4 overs was the pick of the bowlers.
Chasing 117, it was a mere formality for SSCA as openers Shardul and Ayran sealed of the chase in style. Shardul scored a scintillating 59* off 51 balls (7 fours, 1 six) while Aryan played the supporting role with a solid 25*off 50 balls as Santosh Sports Cricket Academy went on to win the match by 10 wkts.
Both the players Shardul and Aryan were declared ‘man of the match’ for their opening stand which helped their team dominate over the opposition.
A cricketer spends a lot of time under the sun during training and playing. The body controls its temperature by losing fluids, and failing to replace those fluids is a problem. Excessive fluid loss strips your electrolytes, reduces your endurance capacity, power, and concentration and decreases reaction time in the game. An easy practical way to monitor sweat loss is to weigh oneself before and after activity. Each pound of weight lost equals one pint of fluid, and each kilogram equals one and a half liters. These losses should be replaced as soon as possible by drinking water and sports drinks.
If the time of activity for an individual cricketer is fairly continuous for 1 hour or longer, a sports drink is the better replacement fluid. However, if the activity lasts less than 1 hour, water is the best option. In either case, one should have about half a litre of fluid replacement every 30 minutes during strenuous, continuous activity. How much one needs to drink depends on how much sweat one loses. Energy-electrolyte drinks can replenish the minerals lost through sweating, thus ensuring that the body has the fuel to work, even on hot days!
About Hydration!
- Sip at least 250-500 ml of fluids at regular intervals during training and competition. Make the most of opportunities such as warm-up, breaks during over changes, the fall of wickets and when not fielding to sip on a drink.
- Increase your fluid intake the day before which will help begin a training session/match well hydrated which will ensure that only moderate amounts of fluid are needed on match day.
- Indeed a sports drink to help replace electrolytes and energy. Use isotopic sports drinks to replace fluid, electrolytes as well as carbohydrates.
- Exclude excessive amounts of caffeine and alcohol (they have a diuretic effect and cause further dehydration).
- Monitor your urine color: it should be pale, not dark in color.
- Replace both fluid and carbohydrate losses at the end of a match. The amount is individual, however general guidelines indicate that for every kg of weight lost during a match, replace with 1.5L fluid.
Cricketers can rely on various sports drinks for this purpose. Ideally, a sports drink should:
- Balance out the electrolytes and fluids lost through sweating
- Supply one with energy in the form of carbohydrates during prolonged strenuous activity
- Ensure a rapid fluid intake by being hypotonic or isotonic.
Batting first, Aakash Tigers Mumbai managed to post a modest total of 136/8 in 20 overs. The top order chipped in with starts with opener Gomel top scoring with 38 runs. However, the match turned upside down when spinner Ankush Jaiswal came in to rattle the entire middle order of Aakash Tigers. The 26yr old came up with the 1st hat-trick in the history of T20 Mumbai so far which is certainly a feat he will cherish for a long long time. Striking in the 11th and 15th over, In the last two balls of the 11th over, Ankush came up with crucial wickets of Arjun Tendulkar & Siddarth Akre and followed it up with a wkt in the 1st ball of the 15th over of Dhawal Kulkarni as Aakash Tigers were in deep trouble. Krutik Hanagawadi with 2/17 in 4 overs was also quite impressive with the ball.
Chasing 137, Eagle Thane Strikers lost their openers within the 1st two overs as the match became evenly balanced. However, skipper Aditya Tare played the rescue act smashing back to back half century scoring a solid 57 off 45 balls (8 fours). Tare also got excellent support from Sarfaraz who rectified his past mistakes to score a more matured and a classy 57* off 49 balls (5 fours, 1 six). It was good to see Sarfaraz guiding the team to a comfortable win as he smashed the winning runs with an impressive boundary of Dhawal Kulkarni.
Eagle Thane Strikers won the match by 6 wkts while it was Ankush, Tare and Sarfaraz coming up with crucial individual performances for their team.
Speaking with Cricketgraph when asked how he felt about the hat-trick and were there any plans in mind when he entered the game, Ankush quipped “It’s a great feeling to take the 1st hat-trick of the tournament & for the new team & also my 2nd match of t20 mumbai. Yes there was a little bit of help from the wicket too. Some of them were not aware of the hat-trick but i was knowing it because i took the two wickets on the last 2 balls of the 11th over and then came back on 15th over. Yes we had a plan for every batsmen & it hopefully worked for us!
Mahul Center after opting to bat first were off to a solid start with Anees (37) & Bhupen putting on a good opening stand. Bhupen as usual known to convert his good starts into hundreds went on to play a brilliant innings of 150 runs in 226 balls (13 fours, 5 sixes). It was a knock of a man in form as some of the shots which he smashed were simply surreal. 11 hundreds in a span of 5-6 months is a big feat to achieve as he that’s almost the highest number of tons as well as runs amongst the current players in his age category. Atharva’s 70 at the middle order further lended a base as Mahul Center reached a total of 366/10 in 98 overs.
Nalasopara Center despite a top order collapse posted 352 runs thanks to two brilliant tons by Satyalaksh Jain (105) and Pratik Patle (122) as both the batters stitched a massive partnership saving their team from an embarrassing defeat.
Mahul Center won on 1st innings and it was certainly three tons in the match which remained the highlight performance of the match.

A successful doctor off the field and a successful batsman on the field, yes that’s the dynamic Satish Shetty from Malad Thunga Hospital winning the Automotive Orange Cap for the month of April 2019. Satish’s blazing innings of 92*in just 63 balls which had 11 fours and 2 sixes helped Malad Thunga Hospital win the match in the Shri Barku G Patil T20 Tournament’19. It was indeed one of the most promising knocks in the month of April followed by some crucial cameos coming from him which helped him win the Orange Cap.
Bhavil Acharya-from Andheri Doctors Team (Winner of Most Popular Player)
Left-handed batsman Bhavil Acharya who also bowls right arm medium bagged the most Popular Player Automotive Cap for the month of April 2019. Bhavil certainly enjoys a lot of popularity as he received a stunning 457 votes to his name. A handy all-rounder, Bhavil had come up with a stunning spell of 4/18 in 4 overs vs Mulund Doctors which played a crucial role in his team’s win. It was that miserly spell from him which also helped him gain a lot of limelight amongst his peers as he went on to become the winner of Automotive Most Popular Player Cap for the month of April.
