From CCI, all-rounder Sujit Nayak was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/52 in 14 overs.
CCI in reply got only 19 overs to bat before the end of the game’s play where match ended in a draw. Though the match could not extract any result but it was a delight to watch Prasad and Adeeb dominate the opposition on their own track. Wicket-keeper batsman Adeeb with 237 runs at an average of 118.50 so far with 3 consecutive fifties looks in surreal form as he will be a player to watchout for in the upcoming season.
It was a match between two really exciting teams, DY Patil is known for its deep and solid batting line up with experienced players alongwith senior bowlers while Young Mohmeddan CC is known for its young firepower blending with experienced local cricketers.
After being put to bat first on DY Patil’s homeground in Nerul, Young Mohmeddan CC were all out for 141/10 in 41.3 overs. Young Mohmeddan CC who were at one stage 3 down for 5 runs got back into the game with their middle and lower middle order playing some handy cameos. Left-arm spinner Karsh Kothari was the pick of the lot coming up with impressive bowling figures of 6/53 in 16.3 overs.

Bowling alongside experienced bowlers like Arun , PT and Bhoir, 23yr old Karsh certainly made an impact creating a space for himself in the powerful DY team.
DY Patil on the other hand surpassed the 1st innings lead declaring their innings at 143/7 in 33 overs winning the match on 1st innings lead. However, it was the father-son duo of Musheer Khan and Naushad Khan bagging all the 7 wkts between themselves. Musheer who is probably the youngest from both the teams managed to ruffle up the feathers of senior names like Subramaniam Doriaswamy, Kaustub Pawar, Sarvesh Damle amongst others. Musheer was allowed by MCA to play in local matches and he has certainly made a promising comeback in Kanga where he has chipped in with bat as well as with the ball.
Vijay CC after being put to bat first at Cross Maidan managed to put a total of 167/10 in 37.3 overs. It’s always fun and exciting to watch two evenly matched teams take on each other and the match between Dadar Union vs Khar Gymkhana was no exception. Both the teams boast of some experienced local cricketers as well as some young upcoming names, hence a head to head competition was surely in the cards!

Khar Gymkhana batting first on their own ground were off to a solid start with openers putting on 81 runs for the 1st wicket. Opening the innings, Priyank Shetty top scored with an elegant knock of 88 runs in 110 balls (11 fours, 2 sixes). The rest of the batsman chipped in with cameos as Khar Gymkhana declared their innings at 261/8 dec in 49.4 overs.
Chasing a 250+ score on Kanga is most of the times extremely difficult and especially if you lose half your batting line up for 120 runs. However, Dadar Union’s saving grace was Hardik Tamore who came at no.3 and remained unbeaten till the end of the game’s play. Despite wickets falling from the other hand, Hardik kept on enjoying his natural game hitting a match saving 102* in just 89 balls. Dadar Union SC in reply reached a commanding total of 201/6 in 30 overs before the match ended in a draw.
Eventhough the match could not extract any results, we got to witness some solid batting by the likes of Rohan, Priyank and Hardik Tamore.
Ours CC batting first at LIC, Cross Maidan did lose a couple of early wickets but it was their experienced campaigner Dushyant Kadam rescuing his team with a brilliant 82* off 108 balls. Dushyant who was amongst the top scorers of his division last year again played an impressive knock while he was nicely supported by Jatin Gharat at no.5 who scored an unbeaten 56* off 66 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes).

Maharashtra Young Cricketers in reply managed to score only 103/9 40 overs with Atish Walinjkar leading the pack with 5/44 in 17 overs and 5 maidens. Ours CC were quite close to a dominating win but Maharashtra Young Cricketers somehow rescued a narrow defeat by just one wicket.
Kanga is indeed a platform where every year hundreds of hardworking cricketers from different corners of Mumbai get a platform to showcase their skills. In the match between Rizvi CC and Star CC, one such local talent which came under spotlight was Akash Yadav.
Star Cricket Club after being made to bat first at Azad Maidan managed to muster only 73/10 in 40.4 overs. Medium Pacer Akash Yadav came up with a match winning spell of 5/9 in 15 overs which had as many as 10 maidens in it. Such was the quality of bowling on display, Akash made life miserable for the Star CC batters giving blows at regular intervals.

Rizvi CC in reply received an equally good tough fight by the Star CC Bowlers where they could reach a total of only 68/8 in 43 overs. Rizvi had a chance to surpass the 1st innings trail and win the match on 1st innings lead while Star CC required only 2 tailender wickets to win the game. However, the interesting battle came to an end with no results being obtained. The match ended in a draw while it was certainly Akash Yadav who becomes a bowler to lookout for in the upcoming season…
Bharat CC after being put to bat first at Oval Maidan were all out for 102 runs in 61.1 overs. Right arm medium pace bowler Ramchandra Pol was excellent with the ball maintaining excellent line and length. His bowling figures of 8runs and 5 wkts in 16 overs with 10 maidens are so far the best bowling figures across divisions for a fifer (Least runs conceded for a fifer). All-rounder Mandar Garude also chipped in with 3/20 in 15 overs with 6 maidens.
Mazgaon CC in reply won the match on 1st innings lead scoring 104/5 in mere 19 overs. Most of the batters entered with a mindset to win despite less overs in hand and it turned out to be a dominating win for the Mazgaon team.

Evergreen Sports Club batting first at Azad Maidan were all out for 122 runs in 37 overs. Despite a decent top order start by Vishal Jain (31) and Sinosh Panicker (43), the middle and lower order could not capitalize. Right arm medium pacer Sandeep Nimase was spot on with the ball coming up with wickets at crucial junctures. Sandeep was the pick of the lot taking 5/31 in 10 overs with 2 maidens.
His team though, Bohra Cricketers were bundled out for 75 runs with pacer Sachin Jadhav’s 4/19 coming in quite handy for the Evergreen SC team. Evergree Sports Club won the match on 1st innings lead while it was Sandeep Nimase’s brilliant fifer which remained the highlight performance of the match.
