The match between Bharat Cricket Club and Shantibhai Seth Cricket Club was played at Bharat C.C, Dadar on Sunday, 10th November. Shantibhai Seth Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field first.
Set to bat first, Bharat Cricket Club’s scorecard signified their failure in the middle with only person scoring in double figure i.e. 11 balls. They only scored 38 runs in 15 overs before getting bowled out. Shantibhai Seth Cricket club’s, right arm medium bowler Abhishek Patil registered a staggering feat of 7 wickets in just 17 runs.
Coming on to bat Shantibhai Seth Cricket Club scored 100 runs in 32 overs and declared hoping for a win. Right handed batsman Amit Patade scored 37 runs in that. They lost 7 wickets in that process.
In the second innings, Bharat Cricket Club negotiated the opposition bowler safely and closed the innings putting 73 runs on the board losing 3 wickets. Vaishnav Sail scored a patient 33 off 75 balls which strengthened their case to close the game.
Result- The match ended in a draw.
The match between Achievers Sports Club and Young Parsee Cricket Club was played at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana (Kandivali) on Sunday, 10th November.
Young Parsee Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field first. In achiever sports club 1st innings, apart from opener Sandeep Palav’s 33* other batsmen contributed majorly in the total and they were bowled out at 68.
For Young Parsee Cricket Club, they used only 3 bowlers and the pick of them is right arm medium Rajesh Pagdhare who picked up a dazzling 6 wickets for 26 runs. In response to the score of 68, Young Parsee Cricket Club put up a fantastic score with left handed opener Divyendu Shekhar scoring 52 runs off 72 balls. They declared at the score of 83 losing only one wicket.
In the second innings, Achievers Sports certainly upped their game and they evaded loss with grace by scoring 96 runs in 18 overs losing 5 wickets before declaring. Opener Sandeep Palav scored a quick 50 runs in 37 balls. The day was called off then.
RESULT- THE MATCH ENDED IN A DRAW.
New Hindu CC team after being put to bat first at Matunga Gymkhana (Dadkar Maidan) batted really well notching up 218/8 Dec in 55 overs. Openers Vedprakash Jaiswal (61 off 124 balls) and Pratik Patil (35 off 49) gave a solid start of 67 runs while it was their skipper Sachin Sanghvi at no.5 scoring a timely half century. Sachin scored a crucial 64 off 82 balls laced with 4 boundaries & 3 sixes, an innings which can be best described as a knock of controlled aggression as he dealt the bad balls with authority while also responsibly dodged the tough ones. Sachin was nicely supported by Manesh Bhogle who scored 34 runs & stitched an 80 run stand with the skipper. Medium pacer Satish Shinde with 6/88 in 20.2 overs was the pick of the lot for Matunga Gymkhana as he came up with timely breakthroughs despite lacking support from the other end.
Matunga Gymkhana who boast of an equally promising batting line up were made to struggle on their own den thanks to a brilliant bowling spell by Girish Kocharekar.
The medium pacer came up with the best bowling figures of his division this season & without a doubt amongst the top 5 spells across all divisions conceding mere 7 runs for his 5 wkts with as many as 9 maidens in a spell of 11 overs. Girish was spot on with the ball but it was Matunga Gymkhana’s good luck that they escaped a narrow defeat with 2 wkts in hand at the end of the day’s play.
Matunga Gymkhana were 48/8 in 27 overs at the end of the game’s play as the match ended in a draw.
Into the all important finals of the DSO U17 tournament, two promising teams in the name of R Jhunjhunwala and Rizvi locked horns with each other where in Rizvi after winning the toss opted to bowl first.
R Jhunjhunwala batting first posted a total of 82 runs in 12 overs wherein Ayush remained unbeaten on 18* while opener Dasrath top scored with 30 runs off 23 balls. From the Rizvi bowlers, Aman with 2 wkts was the pick of the lot.
Rizvi Team in reply did gave a fight but eventually fell 6 runs short of the chase thanks to some tight bowling by the Jhunjhunwala bowlers which led their team towards a title win of the DSO U17 Tournament.
Evergeen Sports Club after being put to bat first at Oval Maidan were in deep trouble at one stage with their scoreboard reading 5/25 however it was Dwij Adhvaryu at no.9 turning the tables for his team with a gritty half century. Dwij came at a time when a 3 digit total also looked difficult but he kept the scoreboard ticking hitting a quick 44 ball 51* (5 fours, 1 six) to propel Evergreen SC from 25/5 to 180/9 in 36.5 overs. Quickter Aditya Kolhatkar bowled a supreme spell of fast bowling
It was a match to remember though as Superstar SC who were on the verge of defeat somehow escaped with one wicket in hand at the end of the game’s play. Bhushan Tandel at no.7 showed resistance facing 72 balls for his unbeaten 13* while tailender Aditya Kolhatkar dodged 16 deliveries unbeaten to ensure his team ends the game in a draw which also meant one point for Superstar SC. From the bowlers, Dwij Adhvaryu was fantastic taking 5/39 in 18 overs alongwith 7 maidens while left arm spinner Sanket Joshi taking 4/30 in 23 overs alongwith 12 maidens.
Aditya on the back of his excellent performance in local cricket also got selected in the U19 Vinood Mankad Trophy for Mumbai while Dwij Adhwaryu becomes only the 2nd player this season across all divisions to achieve the feat of taking 5 wkts & scoring 50 in Kanga League’19
Farhad alongwith Ajit Rodrigues used to be a premier combination & spearhead bowlers for Parsee Cyclists since a long time. While Ajit now represents other club, Farhad has taken over the role of being the strike bowler as he continues to impress with the ball at the age of 37 taking a brilliant 6/55 in 14 overs alongwith 3 maidens vs Star CC at the Azad Maidan. In his previous match vs Vijay CC, Farhad had taken an impressive 5/33 in 15 overs followed by a 6wkt haul in his latest outing.
On the back of his excellent spell, Star CC despite their opener Deepak Kanaujiya’s 53 were all out for 145 runs in 35 overs. Parsee Cyclists in reply won the match on 1st innings lead scoring 147/7 dec in 41 overs thanks to a crucial 47 by Yogesh Patil at no.5 which helped them surpass the 1st innings lead.
The match between Sunrise Sports Club and Taki Team Sports Club was played at Worli SC on Sunday, 10th November. Taki team sports club won the toss and elected to field first.
In the first innings, Sunrise Sports Club had a bad outing with the bat and only managed to score 117 runs in 35 overs before getting bowled out. For Taki team sports club, the pick of the bowlers was off-spinner Vishal addagatla who picked up 5 crucial wickets for 32 runs and he is currently the second highest wicket taker in the tournament. In response to that, Taki team’s batting also didn’t light up the show and only managed to score 93 runs in 23.1 overs only, losing all 10 wickets. For Sunrise sports club also, slow left arm bowler Swapnil Rawool picked up a fifer for 37 runs.
In their 2nd innings, Sunrise club’s opener Rajeev Kamath’s quick 47 runs earned them a total of 74 runs in 20 overs before they declared eyeing for a uncertain victory. In response, Taki team played out the remaining 6 overs of the day harmlessly before the day was called off.

PDTSA after being put to bat first at Sainath Sports Club were restricted to just 105 runs all out in 31.3 overs but one boy which grabbed the attention of everyone was young Rugved More. Rugved single handedly fought it out with the opposition bowlers scoring a rock solid 63* off 99 balls coming at no.3 hitting 9 boundaries.
Rugved was nicely supported by Tushar Gharat who scored 37 off 42 balls. Such was PDTSA’s collapse, their innings had 6 ducks and 2 batsmen falling out on 1 run each. From the bowlers, it was left arm spinner Yash Chavan coming up with sensational bowling figures of 5/25 in 10.3 overs. Yash was spot on in executing his plans while he was nicely supported by Rahul Chaudhary who took 3/19.
Sainath SC also felt jitters early on but it was their star all rounder Yash Chavan at no.5 scoring a fluent 53* off 75 balls (4 fours, 2 sixes) to rescue his team from the jaws of defeat. Sainath SC win the match on 1st innings lead declaring their innings at 125/6 in 28 overs while Yash becomes only the 3nd player across all divisions this year to achieve the feat of taking a 5 wkt haul and scoring a half century in the same match.
In the match between Amar CC and Yogi CC at the iconic DY Patil Nerul, Amar CC batting first posted a 1st innings total of 172/10 where in Hetanshu Kamdar again played a rescuing cameo down the order hitting 49 off 46 balls. From the Yogi CC bowlers, Arnav Desai with 4/29 in 16.1 overs alongwith 7 maidens was the pick of the lot.
Thanks to a brilliant bowling spell by Aditya Puliparambil, Yogi CC were bundled out for just 129 runs in 51 overs. Spinner Aditya was spot on with his bowling fetching 5 crucial wickets in his spell of 11 overs where he conceded 24 runs alongwith 5 maidens. The rest of the bowlers also gave good support as Amar CC went on to win the game by 1st innings lead.

In the other match between Evergreen CC and Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Evergreen CC were restricted to mere 118 runs all out on the back of a match winning spell by Pratham Wagh. The young bowler maintained good line and length which reaped rewards for him as well as his team as he returned with excellent bowling figures of 5/31. Shivaji Park Gymkhana in reply on the back of Pratik Kondkar’s 62 scored 152 runs in their 1st innings winning the match on 1st innings lead.
Payyade Sports Club after being put to bat first on their home ground ensured the match remained dominating run feast for them amassing a big total of 468/8 dec in 78.2 overs. Opener Amit Jaiswal scored a gritty 77 off 105 balls while it was the 195 run stand for the 6th wicket between Rudra Tank and Aadesh Rane which put Payyade on top of the game. Coming at no.4, Rudra went on to score an aggressive 187 off just 170 balls hitting 29 fours and 5 sixes. It was a knock where he mostly dealt in boundaries while Aadesh was equally effective at no.7 bringing his hundred in mere 75 balls making it the fastest CPCC ton for this season smashing 13 fours and 5 sixes.
Sainath SC batted for 6 overs for the loss of 2 wickets before the game was called off as wicket wasn’t permissible to play on. Hence to decide the winner, a fresh spin of coin toss was conducted where Payyade SC won the toss and were declared winners.
