In the ongoing Thane Premier League 2023: Chief Minister Trophy, Cricket Mantras were defeated by Ambernath Rising CC by a comfortable margin. Batting first, Cricket Mantras managed a total of only 147/8 in 20 overs. After a brief knock by Siddharth Mhatre (34 off 32), Hitesh Shetty notched up a crucial knock of 50 runs, helping his team reach a fighting total. Leg spinner Parikshit Valsangkar spun a web, claiming 3 in his 4-over spell.

After a skillful display with the ball, Valsangakar hammered 61 off just 34 balls as he opened the innings. Apart from him, few batsman got going and chipped in crucial runs to make sure Ambernath Rising sealed the game with 3 overs to spare. Parikshit was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his crucial contribution.

CricketGraph is organising a tour to Chandigarh starting 11th June. The tour is made for U-19 boys where they face incredible local talent of Chandigarh. The team will stay in a hotel accommodation for 6 nights till 17th June and play on Association-approved grounds such as IVCA, Kandala and Launch Pad Cricket Ground.

All players will have an opportunity to play a minimum of 6 matches where 4 of them would be competed in a 40-over format and 2 of them in T-20. Apart from the matches, the team will receive breakfast, lunch as well as dinner in our package alongwith local travel. These matches and a post-tour highlight will also be covered by CricketGraph and shared on the CricketGraph media platforms.

After playing the matches, the players will also be taken sightseeing as the beauty of Chandigarh is explored.

PDTA SA locked horns with Shivaji Park Youngsters in an enticing game of cricket. PDTA managed to score a strong total of 227/7 in 30 overs. Ustav Koti scored 71 off 56 as he provided a flying start to the team. Aayush Vaiti scored an entertaining knock of 82, facing just 40 balls in the process. From the SPY bowling unit, Arman Pathan was the most successful, claiming 2 wickets.

As the runchase began, SPY lost the wicket on the first ball of the second innings. Saif and Swayam batted to together and provided the momentum. Swayam went on to play a crucial knock of 63 off just 58 balls. After his dismissal, Shashwat led the charge by hammering a 25-ball-52, helping SPY win by 6 wickets with an over to spare.

FTL XI dominated their first Thane Premier League match against Salgaonkar SC. After electing to bat frist, FTL posed a commanding total of 206 in 20 overs losing 7 wickets in the process. The openers being the stars of the show by putting up a 101-run partnership under 10 overs. Aakarshit Gomel scoring 57 off 31 as Jay Chavan hammered a 34-ball 53. Apart from them, Arun Yadav chipped in a handy 37 in the middle stages. Although an ordinary bowling performance, Pranav Tillu was successful in claiming 4 wickets for the team in his 4 over quota.

Salgaonkar SC began their runchase but kept losing wickets at timely successions. A few batsmen scoring 20 runs but nothing substantial, giving the FLT a dominating victory. Aakarshit Gomel’s 3/31 and Ajay Patil’s 3/22 dismantled the batting line up. Ultimately FTL won by 78 runs as Gomel was named Man of the Match.

After a rain-interrupted day on 2nd of May, the Thane Premiere League matches were pushed forward a day each with a revised fixture. SR’s Group took on Vijay Shrike CC in the 3rd game of the tournament. The toss was won by SR’s Group which elected to bowl on the damp wicket, this decision later being proven right.

Vijay Shirke CC had a dismal outing with the bat as they were bowled out for just 91 in the 18th over. Prithvik Pandi high scored with run-a-ball 28. All bowlers from the SR Group claimed a minimum of 1 wicket each. Akash Parkar being with highlight with figures of 2/7 alongside Vaibhav Mali (2/9) and Prathamesh Dake (2/17)

With the bowlers doing their job, the batsmen diligently chased down the target. Opener Vaibhav Mali hammering 37* of just 19 balls in a low-scoring encounter as SR’s Group won the game with 6 wickets in the 9th over itself. After his display of all-round prowess, Vaibhav Mali was named as the Man of the Match.

BEST Arts took on JSW Steel in a short lived game of the Corporate Tournament. BEST were bowled out for just 95 by the 10th over. Despite Vijay Yadav’s best effort of 34, other batsmen never got going. Chirag Keni claimed 3/3 in an impressive spell but it was Yash Kripal’s bowling which crippled the BEST batsmen as he claimed a 5-wicket haul.

After a strong display in the first innings, JSW’s batsmen chased down the target in just 10.1 overs. Arjun Thappa slammed a quick-fire 30* to close off the match.

Paramount CC took on Bhatia SC in the Kanga Knockout Tournament as Paramount dominated. After being asked to bat first, Paramount SC scored a total of 311 runs in 45 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Vinod Mishra scored 67 off 58 as Riten Palav put up a match-winning knock of 80* off just 60 balls. Their partnership was a match-making one after early wickets. Karan Veo claimed 3/57 was the highlight from the bowling side.

After a dominating display with the bat, Paramount SC bowled Bhatia SC out for just 151 in the 37th over. Lav Palyekar was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4/27. This victory advanced Paramount into the next round.

In the second game of the 11th edition of the Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy, Eknath Shinde CC-1 prevailed comfortably over Sportsmen Cricket Club at Dadoji Kondev Stadium. After winning the toss, Sportsmen CC elected to chase. Eknath Shinde CC-1 notched up a comfortable total of 191/9 by the end of the first innings. After an early scare, skipper Akhil Herwadkar’s brilliant 71 helped his team reach the massive total. In 50 balls, Akhil dispatched 9 of them for fours as 2 of them were sent out of the park. Apart from him, Shashikant Kadam hammered a quickfire 39 off just 19 deliveries to finish the innings off.

On the bowling side, Aquib Shaikh claimed 3 wickets in his 4 overs.

Sportsmen CC were put under pressure right away by Eknath Shinde CC-1 bowlers. Mohit Avasthi claiming 2 quick wickets early on. The dominance was such, just one batsman managed to pass the 10-run mark. Vidyadhar Kamath bowled a superb spell of 3/11 in 4 overs in a commanding display of leg spin as Yash Chauhan was amongst the wickets as well. Ultimately, the Sportsmen CC were cleaned up for just 69 in the 19th over.

Akhil Herwadkar was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his knock as Eknath Shinde CC-1 won by 122 runs.

The most awaited tournament of Thane, Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy 2022 kicked off in a royal manner on the morning of May 1st. Thane Municipal Corporation’s Chairman of Transport- Mr. Vilas Joshi, Shivsena Deputy Head of District Council- Mr. Ramesh Vaity, Shivsena Corporator- Mr. Sudhir Kokate, Corporator- Legislative Council & Palghar District Contact head- Mr. Ravindra Phatak, Ex-Mayor, Thane Municipal Corporation- Mr. Naresh Mhaske, Sporting Club Committee Member – Me. Sanjay Sachdeva and Member of Parliament & Chief guest Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde were present for the inauguration ceremony of the tournament’s 11th Edition. After their felicitation, cricket coaches from Thane as well as Ranji Trophy players participating in TPL were given salutations for their monumental effects in the vicinity.

Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde then dawned the willow and displayed his secret strokeplay skill to kick off the Thane Premier League. After a few knocks with the bat, Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde motivated the players with their words as everyone was gearing up for the first fixture of the competition.

EKNATH SHINDE CRICKET CLUB (2) vs MAHARASHTRA CRICKET ACADEMY
The first game of the tournament was between defending champions Eknath Shinde CC 2 and Maharashtra CA. After winning the toss, Maharashtra CA elected to bat first at posed a competitive total of 161/8 by the end of the innings. After a top order failure, Karan Naidu (36 off 31) and Shashank Mistry (37 off 23) rescued the sinking ship and took them to a fighting total. Hemant Buchade was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 wickets in a 4-over spell, conceding just 14 runs.

After a hard fought first innings, it was all to play for in the second innings but the Eknath Shinde CC batsmen had different plans. After an initial wicket, Sahil Gode and Siddhant Singh. Gode smashed an unbeaten 72 off mere 28 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes as Singh managed to surpass his destructiveness by scoring 68* off just 20 balls. Singh smashed 7 sixes along with 4 boundaries. They formed a 98-run partnership to schieve the total in just 10.2 overs and advance to the next round of the tournament.

After claiming a wicket with the ball and an immaculate innings with the bat, Siddhant Singh was named the Man of the Match.

In the MCA Corporate Trophy 2022-23, Navi Mumbai Police CC competed against Cipla LTD as the latter prevailed comfortably. Batting first, NMPCC managed to score a competitive total of 173 runs in 20 overs as they were bowled out in the final over. Opener Meer Rizvi played a blistering knock of 54 off just 34 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Atharva Chavan chipped in 37 as Shadab Khan managed finished off the innings with a 18-ball-36 run knock. On the bowling side, Shashvat Kapoor claimed 3 wickets.

Cipla went guns blazing as the openers made use of the powerplay. Daljit Thaker scored 49 off 32. After his innings, Bipin Waghela displayed his strokeplay with a destructive 28-ball-58. He scored 3 fours and 6 sixes in his power-packed innings. Ultimately, Cipla sealed the game comfortably by the 17th over, losing just 4 wickets.
