AIS Sparks opting to bat first at the Somaiya Cricket Ground could only muster a total of 132/8 in 20 overs. Despite a disastrous start with scoreboard reading 3/15, Niraj Bajaj (39) and Abhishek Javeri (38) chipped in with crucial cameos to take team towards a respectable total. From the bowlers, Nikhil Kothari with 3/30 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot while Alpesh Jain and Harish Mehta bagged 2 wkts each.
Chasing 133, Camp Warriors on the back of Nikhil Kothari’s brilliant 48* off 33 balls chased down the score in just 17.4 overs winning the match by 4 wkts. Camp Warriors had also lost a few early wickets at the beginning but Sangram Singh (27 off 28) and Nikhil Kothari (48*) ensured their team got back into the game in no time.
Nikhil Kothari was declared “man of the match” while Niraj Bajaj was declared “Star Player of the match”
Balmohan Vidyamandir School opting to bat first at posted a massive total of 353/4 in 42 overs. Top scoring the innings was Saurabh Mahadik who scored an effortless knock of 155 runs pushing his team towards a strong position. Apart from Saurabh, all-rounder Sarthak Patil (53) and Swarup Rane (32) came up with crucial cameos.
Campion School in reply were bundled out for 49 runs in just 19.3 overs. Sarthak Patil came up with an excellent spell of 5 runs for 5 wkts in 5 overs alongwith 3 maidens making it an all-round contribution in the match. Saiprasad Mane also gave good support chipping in with 3 wkts as Balmohan Vidyamandir School won by 304 runs.

In the match between Police Gymkhana & Anushakti Nagar at the Shivaji Park Ground, Police Gymkhana batting first posted a heavy total of 467/9 dec in 78 overs. Despite a shaky top order start, it was their middle order consisting of Atif Khan and Yug Gala which brought their team back into the game with a 145 run stand. Atif coming at no.5 scored 110 off mere 79 balls (16 fours, 4 sixes) while the in-form Yug scored a classy 147 off 166 balls (18 fours). Yug also batted with the wagged tail putting on 109 runs with Akash Dubey who scored 61* (68 balls). From the bowlers, Samarth Bhatt with 6/107 in 25 overs was the pick of the lot.
Anushakti Nagar in reply were all out for 78 runs in 41.5 overs thanks to a wonderful bowling spell by Zenith Sachdev. The left arm spinner continues his consistency with the ball as he came up with excellent bowling figures of 7/16 in 13.5 overs coupled with 6 maidens.
It was spot on bowling by Zenith who meant business as Police Gymkhana won the match by 389 runs.

In the match between Shivaji Park Gymkhana and DPC (Dadar Parsi Colony Sporting Club), Shivaji Park Gymkhana opting to bat first on Young Maharashtra wicket notched up a total of 233/10 in 65.1 overs. Left-handed opener Sandeep Misal top scored in the innings with a gritty 55 off 58 balls (6 fours). From the bowlers, Karan Patil with 4/55 was the pick of the lot.
Defending a total of 234, Dadar Parsi Colony SC were all out for 91 runs thanks to a superb match winning spell by Omkar Karandikar. Left arm spinner Omkar came up with 5/30 in 14 overs alongwith 5 maidens to ensure his team Shivaji Park Gymkhana win in a commanding fashion by 142 runs.
Esplanade Liberals CC batting first at Cross Maidan declared their innings at 187/8 in 41.5 overs. Rupesh Meher coming at no.3 top scored with a solid 55 off 83 balls while Keval Vakharia with 3/51 was the pick of the bowlers.
Thanks to the damage provided by left arm spinner Shailesh Dubli’s 4/23, Young Friends CC were struggling at one stage with 5/59 & 7/82 with a loss quite inevitable on the cards. However, it was Kartike Savla at no.6 who went on to score 75* off 98 balls (10 fours, 2 six) dodging the bowlers and keeping the scoreboard ticking.
It was on the back of his unbeaten 75*, Young Friends CC batted out 43 overs till the end of the game’s play as the match ended in a draw.

OIS Tigers batting first at Somaiya Ground posted a healthy total of 178/8 in 20 overs. Vicky Sujan (33 off 18) and Nitesh Bhasin (37 off 25) were the highest scorers for OIS as most of their batters came up with quick cameos of 10’s and 20’s. From the bowlers, Neil Dhankani and Alok Shah with 3 wkts each were the pick of the lot.
Defending 179, Mount Litera’s opener Mohammad Shaikh gave a good start scoring 55 off 44 balls but he lacked support from the other end. Ajit Virwani proved to be the trumpcard for OIS as he came up with a crucial bowling spell of 4/22 in 4 overs. Bowling figures like this while defending a total in an t20 knockouts is certainly impressive as Mount Litera could only manage 144/7 in 20 overs.
OIS Tigers won the match by 34 runs while Ajit Virwani was declared ‘man of the match’ for his superb bowling under pressure.
In the match between Balmohan Vidyamandir and NKES School Sion at the New Hind Ground, Balmohan Vidyamandir batting first posted a humungous total of 549/4 in 39 overs. The architect of this innings was Saiprasad Mane who went on to score a thrilling knock of 207*off 160 balls which had 28 fours and 8 sixes. Saiprasad dismantled the bowlers with effortless ease while Sarthak Patil (53) and Atharva Mane (48) gave crucial contributions too in the match.
NKES School in reply were cleaned up for just 22 runs in 11.2 overs thanks to the star player of the match Saiprasad Mane coming up with 6 wkts for 6 runs in 4 overs. This is the 1st time in Giles Shield this year that a double centurion has come up with a 5 wkt haul in the same match as Balmohan Vidyamandir won the match by a record margin of 527 runs.
Saiprasad who is is Mumbai probables has certainly stamped his presence with a super all-round performance.
Played between BMC and Century Rayon at the Central Maidan, Thane, BMC Security batting first were bundled out for just 116 runs in 22 overs. In an otherwise dismal batting performance, Prakash Gohil top scored with 52 runs off 42 balls while the bowler who inflicted maximum damage was Pradeep Pandey who ensured BMC were reduced to a low total.
Medium pacer Pradeep Pandey came up with excellent bowling figures of 6/18 in 5 overs alongwith 2 maidens as Century Rayon chased down the score in just 13.5 overs winning the match by 8 wkts.

In the match between Sporting Union Club and Shantibhai Seth CC at the Shivaji Park Ground, Shantibhai Seth CC batting first posted a total of 278/8 dec in 79.1 overs on the back of some solid half centuries from their middle order batsman Manthan Korgaonkar (73) & Arya Raut (57). From the bowlers, Atharva Bhosle with 4/76 was the pick of the lot while Ritesh Nalawade with 3/116 was the 2nd best.
Sporting Union Club in reply posted 297/6 in 72 overs winning the match on 1st innings. Opener Janak Bhoir and Ashutosh Balla smashed half centuries while it was Shubham Shinde turning the tables hitting a match winning knock of 134 runs in 173 balls laced with 16 boundaries.
It was an effortless dominance towards the bowlers as Shubham ensured his team stayed at the top throughout the match.
Sportszone present Pune T20 mix corporate cricket tournament 2019-20, Pune 7 Dec. 2019 : Venkys Pune took on Tata consultancy services on 14th December at Verrock Vengsarkar cricket ground, Pune. Tata consultancy services won the toss and chose to BAT first. The pitch was suitable for fast bowlers, offering even bounce to them.
TCS had an extremely good 2nd wicket partnership of 99 runs, Sandeep Sanghai scored 43 runs and Gaurav Bhalerao scored a quick 51 off 36 balls. With few other batters chipping in the score soared to 174 runs losing 8 wickets. For Venkys, Sujit Ubale and Shubham Sutar picked up couple of wickets.
The chase wasn’t a cakewalk for Venky’s batsman and adding to that the top order batsman failed to maintain partnerships. Lower order batsmen Jayesh Rathod(51 off 36) and Amit Singh went all guns blazing in the middle.
The duo went ahead with all their grit when they needed 90 runs in just 6 overs, with their wonderful effort they brought down the equation to 12 runs in the last over. Amit got out in the 4th ball of the last over after hitting a six and very dramatically, no. 7 Omar Akhade scored a 4 in the last ball to seal their wins when they needed 2 runs in the last ball. TCS’s bowlers also bowled pretty well, Abhimanyu Chavan and Tejpal Singh Picked up 2 wickets each.
Result – Venkyspune won the match by 3 wickets.
Amit Singh was awarded the man of the match.
