It was a spirited performance from the DY Patil players with Senior players like Subramanian D (47), Bravish Shetty (36) and Yogesh Pawar (41) chipping in with the bat. youngster Srujan Athawale who is in fine form this season also provided a good cameo of 34 runs.
Khar Gymkhana chasing 212 were all out for 75 runs, courtesy some excellent bowling by Prashant Bhoir (3/11) and Karsh Kothari (4/11) who made life miserable for the batters.

Amar CC opting to bat first at Mahim Juvenile Sports Club could only muster a total of 105/10 in 21.5 overs. Opener Swapnil Verma who is also the captain top scored with 26 runs while the rest of the batters found it difficult to get going. From the bowlers, Pushkar Sawant and Ved Sawant with 3 wkts each were the pick of the lot.

Defending a low total, the pressure was obviously more on the bowlers and Amar CC bowlers did an excellent job both with the ball as well as with their fielding. Medium pacer Vedant Bane came up with a match winning spell of 5/16 in 4.2 overs as Mahim Juvenile Sports Club were cleaned up for 90 runs in 21.2 overs. The rest of the bowlers also performed well giving good support to Vedant. Veer Yadav (off-spinner) & Shivam Yadav (leg-spinner) bagged two wickets each. Debutante Chirag Vakil even though did not had a memorable start with the bat, but he covered it up with good fielding as Amar CC on the back of collective team performance went on to win the match by 15 runs.

Navroz CC batting first at Oval Maidan posted a total of 227/5 in 45 overs and almost half of the team runs were stitched by their no.3 batsman Anuraag Nair. Anuraag coming at no.3 remained unbeaten till the very end as he anchored the innings en-route his confident looking 109* in 138 balls laced with 10 fours and 4 sixes. With minimal top order support, Anuraag fortunately received some help by their lower order bats namely Jeevan K (20) and Bhavesh Modak (43) as Navroz CC were able to cross the 200 run mark. From the bowlers, Ashish Nare with 4/38 was the pick of the lot from Maskati CC.

Maskati CC on the other hand were all out for 157 runs with their opener Pranav Haryan being the last man standing with 57* off 87 balls. It was a clinical bowling performance from Navroz CC with Shubham Kharat being the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 3/33 in 8 overs.

THE DREAMZ TROPHY T20 – 2019-20 : The match between Flavour pot foods and CEX was played at M.B. Union on 8th February 2020. Flavour pot foods won the toss and they elected to BAT first.
After a failed partnership, Flavour’s no.3 Prashant Yadavand Pankaj gupta put up a splendid show of shot making and patience. Gupta scored 30 off 26 and got out. Ramdev Gohil joined Swapnil and they smothered the opposition bowling. Gohil punched an impressive half century off 26 ball only. Prashant scored a brilliant innings of 94 runs off 55 balls. They scored a total of 220 runs in 20 overs losing 3 wickets.
The batting scorecard performance of CEX was a complete debacle. The highest scorer was opener Nitesh who scored 37 runs off 32 balls. Other batsmen failed to even score a double digit score. They succumbed to the pressure of the scoreboard and the lethal bowling attack of Flavour pot foods team. They were bowled out for just 69 runs in 12.2 overs. The man in the limelight was the hat-trick taking bowler, Kawaldeep Singh. At one stage, CEX were looking set at a score of 57 runs in the 9th over. Tables turned when Kawaldeep took the ball in the 10th over and got 2 out and in the 12th over fathomed a hat-trick. He ended up with a mindboggling figure of 5 for 4 in 2 wickets. Kawaldeep claimed the spell to be his best piece of work and credits the reverse swing for troubling the batsmen. He is fondly regarded as FPF’s Bumrah because he always gets the crucial breakthrough at the time of sheer need by the team.
RESULT- Flavour pot foods won by 151 runs.

Played at the Young Zorastrian, Azad Maidan, DY Patil Sports Academy opting to bat first posted a massive total of 224/0 in 22 overs. Two of the shining prospects of Mumbai U14 Circuit, Mann Bhanushali and Abhigyan Kundu opening the innings batted till the very end to post a big total for DY. Abhigyan played the attacking role to perfection hitting 153* off mere 83 balls laced with 24 fours while Mann played the second fiddle playing the anchors role remaining 49*off 52 balls (3 fours).
United CC in reply could only manage a total of 83/6 in 22 overs as DY Patil bowlers were bang on with their bowling. Leg break bowler Vedant Gore with 2/15 in 5 overs was pick of the lot while Mann made it an all-round show taking 1/10 in 5 overs with a maiden as DY Patil went on to win the match by 135 runs.

SALIM DURANI T-20 TROPHY 2019-20 ON 8TH FEBRUARY 2020 IN MUMBAI : New way travels private limited (NWT) VS Mettler Toledo Private Limited (MTPL), the match was played at Azad Maidan on 8th February 2020. NWT won the toss and they elected to BAT first.
After being 79 for 4, NWT’s Omkar Chettiar and Manish Yadav built a strong partnership of 91 runs. Omkar Chetiiar scored a quick 42 off 26 balls and Manish Yadav scored a brilliant 59 runs off 30 balls. Both of them along with few inputs from the top order batters propelled the 4 score to a total of 198 runs in 20 overs losing 7 wickets.
MTPL opener Samir Joshi scored 32 off 41 balls. He laid a good foundation along with no.4 Anwit Gharat who scored a hard fought 54 runs off 42 balls. Unfortunately, barring the two no other played contributed to the score and eventually they scored 123 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets. For NWT medium pacer Anushseh Sinha picked up an impressive figure of 3 for 23 runs in 4 overs.

In the recent match of Mumbai Indians U16 Girls Tournament, medium pacers Sartha Chawan and Ishwari Gaikwad came up with astounding bowling figures of 5/7 in 5 overs (2 maidens) & 5/11 in 4.2 overs (2maidens respectively) representing Singhania School Girls (Thane). Seven Square Academy Girls after opting to bat first at Worli Sports Club were cleaned up for 50 runs all out in 16.2 overs thanks to the pace combination of Sartha and Ishwari.
Singhania School Girls, Thane in reply chased down the score with ease taking mere 6 overs with 8 wkts in hand to win the game in a dominating fashion.
Thanks to Reliance Group & Mumbai Indians for conducting such a professional women’s Tournament. The standard of women’s cricket has indeed witnessed a positive spurt.
After opting to bat first at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana 2, Ajanta’s openers Omkar Rilkar & Ganesh Kadam gives a steady & positive start to Ajanta which was in plan & according to discussed with openers. At the stage of 16.3 overs no loss of 83 Omkar Rilkar (36) lost his patience got C & B to Sachin Solanki.
Prashant Prindavankar takes the place of Omkar and started build up the partnership with Ganesh Kadam. Both the batsman carries forward their inning nicely and put Ajanta Pharma on 164 in 35.4 overs. Then Prashant where he was trying to boost the quick runs, he got bowled to Nilesh Mhatre on 47 runs.
Next batsman Dhaval Panchal takes the charge with Ganesh Kadam and stated his inning. Both were busy with single & doubles. While it feels that both the batsman will blast more 4’s & 6’s Ganesh Kadam got out on 78 runs. Ajanta needed a quick fire at that stage & skipper Hanumant Matkar walks in and join Dhaval. Both experience batsman taken the positive approach and made quick 24 runs partnership in 2.3 overs. Hanumant got out on 13 in 9 balls to Nilesh Mhatre. Ajanata’s score was 194 in 39.4 overs loss of 4 wickets.
Krishna Humane, hard hitter of Ajanta joins Dhaval. Both were well known the situation. Dhaval & Krishna hammered 5 sixes & 4 boundaries reaches Ajanta on 261 in 45 overs. Viva captured total 21 runs in 2nd over. Both solid openers were looking so dangerous. Hanumant replace Gitesh and brings Krishna Humane. His late swinging delivery clears the way of Manager Gupta. Viva was on 31 for 1.
Umesh Gurjar walks in. Shikhar & Umesh batted very nicely with keeping the run rate of 8.0 per over reaches on 88 in just 11 overs loss of 1 wicket. Shikhar & Umesh made a partnership of 65 runs in just 8 overs makes worried for Ajanta. Akshay Ambike’s tight bowling finally gets results. He takes a wicket of Shikhar. Shikhar batted fantastic & boost the quick run rate of Viva. Shikhar smashed tall 6 sixes out of the SRT and hit 3 boundaries. Shikhar scored 65 runs in only 35 balls.
Next, inform batsman of Viva, Sachin Solanki walks in and join with Umesh. They both tried to keep the runs moving towards the target and batted very sensibly. Both made a good partnership of 25 runs. Umesh tried to accelerate at deep midwicket & got out by catch Haresh Jadhav bowled by Tejas Trivedi.
Next 2 batsman of Viva, Akshay Mhapankar & Nilesh got our early. Akshay on 8 runs and Nilesh on 4 runs. Prashant Prindavanar & Tejas Trivedi gives a quick break through to Ajanta and helps Ajanta to bounce back into the game. Rohil Thakur the next batsman joins with Sachin. Rohils approach was very clear. His intent to go for quick runs and brings Viva soon in the game. And he did it successfully. His quick 23 runs with 3 boundaries and a helpful partnership of 65 runs with Sachin Solanki secured Viva again in a good position.
At other end calm Sachin Solanki was building his inning very nicely. Was busy in singles, rotating strike all the time. Makarand Patil the hero of the semi finale game joins with Sachin. Once again Makarand charged in his style with 1 tall six & 2 boundaries. But unfortunate he couldn’t continue his fireworks at SRT & got out to Haresh Jadhav on 17 runs in 12 balls. At this stage Viva were on too good position and were required only 21 runs in 27 balls. Which Sachin & Aditya clears very easily.
Sachin’s patience & smart unbeaten inning of 91 in 112 balls with (6*3 & 4*6) helps Viva Supermarket to lift the championship of Times Shield “E” Division and get promoted into “D” Division for season 2020-21. Viva Successfully chase down the score in 43.5 overs.
