Played at Fatima Cricket Ground, Vidyavihar, Mumbai, Old Monks XI opting to bat first posted a handsome total of 226/6 in 20 overs. It was entertainment from the openers Ojas and Saket Adhikari (58 off 41 balls) who piled up 129 runs in mere 10 overs for the 1st wicket. Opener Ojas Mehta was in a completely different zone hitting the balls on merit en-route his brilliant 100 off mere 44 balls, an innings which consisted 17 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of close to 228.00.
Usually reflexes start to wane as the time passes by but that doesn’t seem to the case with Ojas Mehta who was in Mumbai Ranji probables during his playing days. Ojas at present also plays for MCA BKC Club and Bombay Scottish School in Dads Tournament.
Defending 227, Royal Tigers Blue could only muster 112 runs on the board for the loss of 9 wickets. The former Indian Test cricketer and Ranji Legend only bowled an over but it was certainly a sight watching him bowl again! Rohit Wagh with 3/21 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot while Yatin Telang and Abhishek Ghosalkar bagged 2 wkts a piece to end the Royal Tigers Blue’s chase in a commanding manner.
