After a sluggish opening start, it was Affan Virani at no.3 who changed the game for his team with a whirlwind knock of 102* in 58 balls. Openers Swapnil Pradhan (47) and Aakarshit Gomel (63) provided a great opening start while the momentum was taken ahead by Nikhil Patil at no.4. Payyade Sports Club after being put to bat first at Shivaji Park, Dadar managed to accumulate a total of 261/8 in 45 overs. Young all-rounder Musheer Khan asked to open the innings returned with a fine knock of 53 runs off 82 balls while it was Raunaq Sharma at no.6 bringing his consecutive half century for Payyade Sports Club. Raunaq clobbered 5 sixes out of which 4 were back to back off Shashank Attarde. In his previous outing he smashed 4 back to back sixes to Saksham Jha as Raunaq’s tally of sixes now reach 14 sixes in two games in Police Shield’21.

Regarded as one of the top teams of Mumbai which was won numerous tournaments over the last few seasons, MIG Cricket Club certainly seems to be in no mood to let that title slip away from them. Batting first at Islam Gymkhana ground in Marine Lines, MIG amassed a huge total of 385/7 in 45 overs. MIG Skipper Kevin Almeida once again came good with a fine knock of 96 runs falling 4 short of a well deserved century. With a few wickets falling in between, it was India U19 star Pragnesh bringing back the momentum with a stylish century off mere 75 balls.
The left hander scored 112 off 75 balls with a strike rate of almost 150 which included 10 fours and 6 massive sixes. The surprise package for MIG was Arjun Tendulkar who was literally in some other zone taking on the bowlers with absolute disdain. Arjun probably proved himself more than his critics as he backed himself up with 8 massive sixes en-route his 26 ball 77* with a strike rate of 296.15!
