He is just 9 years and Agastya Kashikar impressed all once again with his 2nd Unbeaten Half-Century in a row.
Agastya once again carried the bat for all 20 overs as he remained not out on his way to score unbeaten 60 runs off 57 balls which got him his 2nd consecutive Man of the Match award at Kalyan’s Little Champs U-12 Tournament organised by Santosh Pathak Sports Academy.

Agastya’s knock helped Abhiveera Boys Group post an impressive total of 149/4 in 20 overs and then restricted Kochipata Sports Academy to 85/10 in 17 overs.

This tournament is being held at Santosh Pathak Cricket academy ground in kalyan

Tanmay Mayekar’s scored a brilliant 52-ball unbeaten century 100 runs which helped Mumbai Police Cricket ‘Club B’ team defeat HPCL Cricket Club by 7 wickets in a semi-final match of the Insurance Shield T20 Cricket Tournament and played at the National CC ground, Cross Maidan on Wednesday. This tournament resumed today after it was halted due to the Covid-19 lockdown since last March.

Mumbai Police after deciding to field first managed to restrict HPCL to a modest total of 159 for 5 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. HPCL Utkarsh Raut played a crucial knock making 89 runs to lift the innings. Left-arm spinner Yogesh Sawant (2/18) and left-arm medium pacer Yogesh Jagtap (2/28) were responsible for keeping the HPCL batsmen under control.

Later, Mumbai Police’s opening batsmen Mayekar quickly settled down as he started to score runs at a brisk pace and his match-winning effort included nine boundaries and five well-struck hits over the boundary ropes to enable his team reach their winning target scoring 162 for 3 wickets.

Brief scores: HPCL Cricket Club 159 for 5 wickets, 20 overs (Utkarsh Raut 89; Yogesh Sawant 2/18, Yogesh Jagtap 2/28) lost to Mumbai Police Cricket Club ‘B’ 162 for 3 wickets, 20 overs (Tanmay Mayekar 100* (52b, 9×4, 5×6; Sameer Patil 2/23). Result: Mumbai Police won by 7 wickets.

MCA Women’s Team B opting to bat first at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana ground at Kandivali were all out for 194/10 in 45 overs. Even though none of the players could make a big score, most of their players chipped in with starts with opener Sanika Chalke (35) & Mahi Thakkar (34*) being the top scorers for their team. From the bowlers, Jagravi Pawar with 3/40 was the pick of the lot.

Chasing 195,opener Hemali Borwankar made the chase look easy as she played a brilliant innings of 71 runs off 70 balls (8 fours). Hemali kept the scoreboard ticking rotating the strike as well as hitting boundaries despite wickets falling from the other end. Jagravi Pawar (34) and Prashansha (25) at the lower middle order played crucial cameos as MCA Women’s chased down the score in 44th over winning the match by 1 wicket.

Played at the picturesque MIG Cricket Ground in Mumbai, MRV Risers after being put to bat first posted a total of 151/7 in 20 overs. Even after a sluggish top order start, it was Puneet Mehra at no.5 who rescued his team from a low total scoring a crucial knock of 73 runs. Puneet was well supported by Chandresh who scored 35 runs.

Chasing 150+ on a MIG wicket can be tricky at times but that was not the case with their swashbuckling opener Bhaktyar Irani. Most of us know Bhaktyar as an actor, dancer but he again proved that he is also a good sportsperson smashing a match winning knock of 95* off just 44 deliveries (16 fours, 2 sixes). Bucky as he is fondly called is one of the prolific batters of JNS team and he continued to prove that he is a vital cog in the playing XI. Bhaktyar was well supported by his opening partner Kunal Jhaveri who scored 48 runs as JNS Jaguars won the match by 6 wickets and 6 overs to spare.

Different sports can learn from each other, and this is so true with baseball and cricket. There are many similarities between these two sports.

Applied Vision Baseball, hailed as the ultimate pitch recognition training mobile app in the United States, got a huge response within a year of its official launch. The app was built to help hitters develop superior pitch recognition skills and abilities. Pitch-Path Anticipation, Visual tracking, Dilation Speed, Pitch-Sequence Recall and, other various pitch recognition skill-sets are tools that hitters will develop in their hitter’s tool-box while using the Applied Vision App.

Due to the overwhelming response from the baseball community, Mark Brooks, the founder of AVB, extended the expertise into a similar sport – Cricket, by launching Applied Vision Cricket.

Like baseball, in cricket too, a lot depends on the batsman’s ability to anticipate the line, the length of the ball, the swing (inswing or outswing), spin and other such variables in real time. The most successful batsmen with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Joe Root etc are great in anticipation.

“Applied Vision Cricket mobile app helps aspiring cricketers to anticipate the deliveries. Batsman can choose the type of bowler, type of delivery, pace, difficulty level etc which helps them to work on their weakness. It also helps them develop the most important ability of watching the ball till the last moment. Our app & settings are tested and proved to be a game changer”, said Mark Brooks.

On their partnership with CricketGraph, Mark added, “We were on the look out of an able partner, who believes in our vision and at the same time also adds value to our offerings. CricketGraph has been operating in the grass root cricket space for over 10 years, and we instantly connected. We are excited to partner with CricketGraph exclusively for the entire of India. Through this partnership we would like to help and inspire a new generation of cricket.

At present AVC , offers a monthly & yearly package, which can be subscribed online through the official website, www.appliedvisioncricket.com

AVC has other exciting features in the pipeline like VR, which will change the entire landscape.

Amol Sonavane, one of the founders of CricketGraph mentioned, “Before we shook hands, our team tested the app and instantly found it useful. Many kids are hooked onto mobile devices, and this is an excellent way for a young cricketers to make the mobile device more productive now. It’s a fun way to anticipate and improvise on batting”.

AVC & CricketGraph will start customizing the content and other features to suit the Indian cricketers.
