Kenyan cricketer Pushkar Sharma impresses with 841 runs in just 14 innings of the recently concluded season of Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association(NPCA).
Pushkar represented Ruaraka Sports Club side in this 50 overs tournament. He was one of the primer batters of the side and basically batted at the top of the order. He amassed 841 runs in 14 innings with four centuries and three half centuries to his name. His score in the tournament is 167* which came in a winning cause. Other than this, he also score three more centuries and lead his team to a commendable place. He averages 70.08 in the tournament with a strike rate of 97.79. He has hit as many as 104 fours and 9 sixes in the tournament and faced 860 balls. None of the other batters in the tournament are near to Pushkar when it comes to score runs in chunks.
Sukhdeep Singh of Sikh Union A is the second highest run scorer of the tournament with 647 runs in 17 matches followed by Dhiren Gondaria of Kanbis A who scored 636 runs in 16 innings. Ruaraka A side managed to come 5th in the league table with 38 points from 18 games.

Pushkar also spoke about the toughness of the tournament. He expressed that the Npca League is one of the most toughest leagues in Kenya. A lot of national cricketers take part in this. This is very much similar to what a Ranji trophy or a Vijay Hazare trophy is in India.
Pushkar also further states that a lot of his success gets accredited to the supports he has earned from IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company and Blackbird Sports Company. Played at MCA Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana in Kandivali, Mumbai, Palghar Dahanu Taluka Sports Association opted to bat first after winning the toss scoring 294/8 in 40 overs. Even though PDTSA lost their openers early, it was Rugved More coming at no.3 changing the game around with a knock of 124 runs in mere 99 balls. Rugved smashed 13 fours and 5 sixes as he anchored his team out of trouble to reach a respectable total. Apart from Rugved, all-rounder Jalis Shaikh scored 67 off mere 34 balls smashing 7 fours and 4 sixes.

New Hindu Cricket Club in reply were all out for 237 runs with experienced Bipin Waghela being the highest scorer. Bipin coming at no.4 scored 55 off just 33 balls in an innings which included no boundaries but 6 sixes! Medium Pacer Sandesh Sonavane with 4/51 in 8 overs was the highest wicket taker for PDTSA as they went on to win the match by 57 runs.


Parsee Gymkhana team opting to bat first at Sharad Pawar Indoor Academy Ground, BKC, in Mumbai posted a mammoth total of 435/6 in 44 overs. Openers Aakarshit Gomel and Vikrant Auti took the game away single handedly with their 200+ opening stand as both the openers smashed impressive centuries. Gomel batted till the very end scoring 119* off 105 balls which had 13 fours and 2 sixes while Vikrant scored 109 off just 80 balls smashing 14 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from them, Aditya Tare (56 runs off 27 balls) & Shams Mulani (70 off 29 balls) played blinder of an innings to further push their team towards a massive total. From the bowlers, Prathamesh Dake with 4/49 was the pick of the lot.
Cricket Club of India in reply could only manage 269/5 in 40 overs with Akash Anand at no.4 scoring a well fought hundred (106* off 90 balls). Opener Nishad Gabhawala scored 63 runs while Prathamesh Dake who took 4 wkts also scored an unbeaten half century smashing 55* off 52 balls. From the bowlers, spinners Yash Dicholkar and Parag Khanapurkar with 2wkts each were the pick of the lot as Parsee Gymkhana won the match by 166 runs.

Islam Gymkhana team batting first after winning the toss posted a very healthy total on board amassing 297/3 in 40 overs. The experienced Kaustubh Pawar continued his good form with the bat as he went on to score a game changing knock of 141 runs in mere 124 balls. It was domination all over from his bat as he took on the Juhu Vileparle Gymkhana bowlers with supreme confidence.

Kaustubh was well supported by his opening partner Mihir Agarwal (60 runs off 71 balls) while also stitched a 175 run opening stand for the 1st wicket. Apart from them, Musavir Khote (40*) & Kamran Chaudhary (38*) chipped in with the bat as they reached a very good defendable total on board.
Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana in reply could only manage 176/7 in 40 overs courtesy some tight bowling by Islam Gymkhana bowlers. Off-break bowler Akshay Girap with 3/22 was the pick of the lot while other bowlers also bowled economical bowling spells as Islam Gymkhana cruised towards a comfortable victory by 121 runs.
SKP Athletics opting to bat first at Elphinstone wicket, Azad Maidan posted a decent total on board scoring 217/9 in 40 overs. Opener Gautam Patkar gave a solid start of 46 (101 balls) despite SKP losing some quick top order wickets. The game further took a u-turn when no.5 batsman Mandar Nalavade entered the crease dominating the opposition bowlers with his enterprising stroke play. Mandar went on to score a brilliant 105 in mere 89 balls (11 fours, 2 sixes) pushing SKP Athletics towards a respectable total.
Jolly Cricketers in reply were all out for 136 runs courtesy a brilliant match winning spell by Rohit Yadav who came up with envious bowling figures of 5/20 in 8 overs. Rohit provided crucial breakthroughs not allowing the opposition team to settle in for a smooth chase while Mandar who scored a century also chipped in with 2 crucial wickets removing both the openers in the opening spell. It was a clinical performance from SKP Athletics team as they won the match in a commanding manner by 81 runs.


Pandurangwadi CC batting first at New Hind, Matunga posted a total of 195/10 in 38.5 overs. The openers Pratik Mayekar & Lal Vishwakarma gave a solid start stitching 91 runs for the 1st wicket. Pratik Mayekar top scored Pandurangwadi CC’s innings with an impressive half century scoring 64 runs off 66 balls laced with 11 fours and 1 six. From the bowlers, Medium Pacer Hardev Tandel was the pick of the lot taking 5/45 in 7.5 overs.
Defending a total of 195 runs, the pressure was certainly on the Pandurangwadi bowlers who thrived under pressure to defend a moderate total. It was a close encounter with Koli Combined giving a tough fight but eventually falling short of 4 runs getting all out for 191 runs in 28.5 overs. All-rounder Pratik Mayekar who top scored with the bat was the pick of the lot with the ball too returning with a crucial spell of 4/35 in 4.5 overs. Saurabh Sorte provided the much needed breakthroughs at the middle order taking 3/41 in 8 overs as Pandurangwadi Cricket Club went on to win the match by 4 runs.

JFSC Academy’s U13 team batting first on Vengsarkar Academy Ground in Mahul, Mumbai were all out for 78 runs in what turned out to be a tight bowling performance from Bravo Academy bowlers. JFSC top order had a few batters coming up with cameos but the batters were not able to convert it into big scores. From the bowlers, Harsheel and Prince with 3 wickets each were the pick of the lot.

Defending a total of 79 runs in a T20 match, the pressure was certainly on JFSC boys and they soaked the pressure quite well successfully restricting Bravo Cricket Academy to 66 runs all out in 12.5 overs. JFSC bowlers gave a tough fight with most of them chipping in with a wicket. Yash Sawant was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/8 in 2 overs.
Result: JFSC U13 Academy team won by 12 runs

Jolly Cricketers after being put to bat first at Oval Maidan in Mumbai were restricted to a low total of 110 runs all out in 29.3 overs with no.10 batsman Ranjit’s 20 runs being the highest score. The bowler who inflicted maximum damage was pacer Sumit Markali who returned with exceptional bowling figures of 5/31 in 8 overs including 2 maidens.
Sumit took crucial top and middle order wickets not allowing the opposition team to settle down. Rajasthan Sports Club in reply chased down the score in 24.2 overs winning the match by 2 wickets.
MIG Cricket Club after being put to bat first on their homeground managed to post a total of 202/8 in 34 overs. Captain Kevin Almeida top scored with 93 runs off 86 balls (12 fours, 2 sixes) as he anchored his team’s batting pushing MIG towards a respectable total. Mumbai Police bowlers did a good job with the ball with Yogesh Jagtap being the pick of the lot taking 3/32 in 6 overs.
Chasing 209, Mumbai Police chased down the score in 33 overs winning the match by 4 wickets. Skipper Sunil Patil opening the innings scored 51 runs off 44 balls while also stitched a crucial partnership with in form Shrikant Limbole who has been one of the top scorers of the tournament this season. Shrikant who also has a century in Madhav Mantri this season continued his good form with the bat anchoring the chase with a match winning 73* off 67 balls (6 fours, 2 sixes) as Mumbai Police cruised towards a commendable win.

In what could be a great announcement for Corporate Cricket Teams, Mumbai Cricket Association has come up with a new corporate tournament called MCA Corporate Trophy which will be only for Corporate Cricket Teams.
Entries are invited from interested Public and Private Sector Companies. Entry Fees for the tournament would be Rs 5000/- plus 18 % GST. All charges i.e. Ground, Umpire, Scorer, Ball Charges will be borne by MCA. Matches will be played on Weekdays only. Last Date of entry is Friday,3rd December 2021.

Matches will be played on Weekdays only.
No Postponement or Venue changes will be entertained for MCA Corporate Trophy.
Ground Allotment & Fixtures will be done in MCA Office.
