Played at the GLR Garden Cricket Ground in Telangana, Hyderabad, the finals of the KFC T20 5th National Cricket Championship for Deaf conducted by Indian Deaf Organization was conducted between Delhi and Haryana where in Delhi after being put to bat first scored a decent total of 126/9 in 20 overs. Even though, they lacked someone who could convert their starts but their batters chipped in with cameos with Shiv Naryan Sharma (27 runs) and Abhishek (23 runs) being the highest scorers. From the bowlers, Ajay Raman with 3/18 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot. Apart from Ajay, Lokesh and Deepak Rawat bagged 2 wickets each.
Defending a modest total of 126, Delhi bowlers did an excellent job restricting Haryana to 123/9 in 20 overs. Despite a great effort from Manish Jain and Lokesh Rawat who scored 43 runs each, Haryana batters failed to lend support from the other end. Delhi bowlers were spot on providing timely breakthroughs to ensure the momentum doesn’t pick up for Haryana. Virender Singh with 3/18 in 4 overs and Jatinder Tyagi with 3/26 in 4 overs bowled crucial spells to bring Hayana on to the backfoot as Delhi Deaf Team won a low scoring thriller by 3 runs to become the champions of KFC T20 5th National Cricket Championship for Deaf under the training of Delhi’s Head Coach Devdutt.
Vidarbha’s Jagjot Sasan’s masterclass innings of 173 not out and an amazing bowling performance was the highlight of the match played between Vidarbha and Assam in the Cooch Behar Trophy (2021-22). The Vidarbha team won the toss and invited the Assam team to bat first. Wherein the Assam team scored 175 runs and were all out in 59.4 overs. Tejas Soni and Gaurav Farde bagged 3-3 wickets each.
The Vidarbha team in response put up a monstrous score of 443 in 134.1 overs. Jagjot Sasan alone went on to score 173 not out of 200 balls. He was supported by Abhishek Agrawal, Ashit Singh and Gaurav Farde who scored 72, 50 and 59 runs respectively. Whereas when the Assam team came out to bat in the second innings and restricted on a score of 118. It was Yatharth Javery who bagged 6 wickets and helped his team win the game by an innings and 150 runs.
Jagjot Sasan was the star player of the match, who performed extremely well not only through the bat, but also bagging 2-2 wickets each in both the innings and helping his team gain a massive victory against the Assam team. Both Jagjot and Vidarbha team will be hoping for this form to continue throughout the tournament and go on to win it.

In their first League Match of the Pulse Sports Red Ball T20 Corporate Cricket Tournament played at the Oval Maidan at Churchgate, newly appointed Skipper Sandeep Patil won the Toss against Soni United, and elected to Bat on a good-looking Pitch.
The elegant left-hander Anil Kumar (31 from 17 Balls; 4 Fours & 1 Six) and Israr put on a solid and quick-fire Opening stand of 43 in 4.5 Overs. Prithvi (48 n.o.) held one side up, stitching together useful Partnerships with Sandeep Shetty (15) and the stylish right-hander Rohit Shetty (22 n.o. from 16 Balls). An unbeaten Partnership of 44 from 26 Balls for the sixth Wicket with the latter really provided the impetus for the good total of 158/5 in the allotted 20 Overs for IndiaFirst Life. For Soni, Jugal (2-0-17-2), Devansh (3-0-16-1) & Meet (3-0-14-0) were the pick of the Bowlers.
During the chase, though Soni had a good start (35/0 in 4 Overs), they never seemed in the hunt thereafter. Ankit (44 Runs; 4 Fours & 1 Six) and Jigar (25 from 19 Balls; 3 Fours & 1 Six) provided some resistance, before the former was trapped in front by Anil. Left-arm Spinners Wasim (4-0-16-2) & Anil (4-0-22-1) and Medium-pacer Sandeep Shetty (4-0-26-0) kept it tight in the Bowling department. At the end, Soni finished at 130/6 to provide IndiaFirst a 28 Run victory. Anil was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his all-round performance.

Payyade Sports Club and Parsee Gymkhana, both recorded comfortable victories in their respective semi-final encounters to set up an interesting final of the Automotive Manufacturing-74th Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2021-2022, organised under the auspices of MCA.
The defending champions Payyade defeated former champions Parkophene Cricketers by 5-wickets at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground on Sunday. In the other semi-final, strong favourites Parsee Gymkhana rode on the combined efforts of Sachin Yadav 115 runs and all-rounder Shams Mulani 90 runs and 4 for 31 runs to crush MIG Cricket Club by a thumping 237 runs margin at the Wankhede Stadium.
Parkophene Cricketers batsmen who were rattled by Payyade’s left-arm medium pacers Royston Dias (4 for 35) and Atif Attarwala (4 for 54) and were dismissed cheaply for 163 runs in 42.4 overs were unable to defend their low total.
Payyade batsmen batted steadily and without much hiccups surpassed the opponents total reaching 165 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 43.5 overs and move a step closer towards defending their title. Akhil Herwadkar 42 runs, Sagar Mishra 40 runs and Siddhesh Lad 30 runs made useful contributions to ensure their team easily crossed the finish line. Parkophene Cricketers medium pacer Aashray Sajnani claimed 4 wickets for 57 runs.
Payyade will have a chance to settle scores with Parsee Gymkhana having lost to them in the Padmakar Talim Shield final in October.
Parsee Gymkhana, who are on a hot winning streak having recently won the Talim Shield and Madhav Mantri Centenary One-Day League titles, were in a dominant mood from the start. Resuming at their overnight score of 317 for 5 wickets, Parsee Gymkhana consolidated their innings adding 48 more runs before being dismissed for 365 all out in 69.5 overs.
Left-handed Sachin Yadav who was unbeaten on 97 duly completed his ton making 115 runs (112b, 12×4, 2×6), while the other overnight batsman Shams Mulani added just two more runs before losing his wicket for a sedate 90 runs. Suryakumar Yadav 35 runs, Aakarshit Gomel 33 runs, and Nikhil Patil (Jr.) 31 runs helped prop the innings. Left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar (4 for 57), Nikhil Date (3 for 81), and Shreyas Gurav (2 for 30) were the bowlers who shared the wickets.
Chasing a mammoth winning target, MIG Cricket Club’s batters were unable to tackle the rival bowling attack and they collapsed for a mere 128 in 42.4 overs. Sheesh Shetty was the only batsman to stay long at the crease scoring 29 runs. Medium-pacer Siddarth Raut (4 for 27) and left-arm spinner Shams Mulani (4 for 31), who also made a useful contribution with the ball, secured Parsee Gym’s success.

Defending champions Payyade Sports Club and Parsee Gymkhana are poised to win their semi-final encounters against Parkophene Cricketers and MIG Cricket Club respectively on the opening day, of the Automotive Manufacturing-74th Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2021-2022, organised under the auspices of MCA.
Electing to bat first, Parkophene Cricketers batsmen struggled against Payyade’s medium-pacers Royston Dias (4 for 35) and Atif Attarwala (4 for 54) and they were dismissed for a paltry 163 runs in 42.4 overs at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground on Saturday. Arun Yadav was the lone Parkophene batter who managed to score 42 runs.
The Payyade Sports Club innings received one setback as they managed to score 38 runs for one wicket in the 12 overs remaining in the day. Siddhesh Lad batting on 20 and Akhil Herwadkar batting 13 were in the middle when stumps were drawn for the day.
In the other semi-final, hot favourites Parsee Gymkhana after being sent into bat first by MIG Cricket Club were sitting pretty having reached a mammoth total of 317 for the loss of five wickets in 61 overs at the Wankhede stadium. The architects of Parsee Gymkhana reaching this huge score were Sachin Yadav and Shams Mulani who are still at the crease batting of 97 and 88 runs respectively. Suryakumar Yadav 35 runs, Aakarshit Gomel 33 runs, and Nikhil Patil (Jr.) 31 runs were the other batsmen to contribute to the scoreboard. Shreyas Gurav (2 for 30) was the only successful MIG bowler.

Late Arjun Madhvi Women’s Trophy is a tournament for women cricketers recognized by Mumbai Cricket Association. The tournament is organized by Rajesh Madhvi Sports Association & Daiwendya Cricket Club at Central Maidan, Thane.
Dr. Rajesh Madhvi who is the Chairman of Sporting Committee, Thane came across this noble idea of providing a platform to the deserving and hard working women cricketers of Mumbai. The tournament aims to uprise women cricketers and further motivate them to make a career in cricket. It was on the basis of that idea, Dr. Rajesh Madhvi Sports Association was started and the first women’s tournament was conducted in February 2021 with 8 teams all over from Mumbai, Palghar, Suburban Area, Kalyan Area & Bhiwandi. The 1st leg of tournament was successfully conducted and MCA appreciated the noble initiative for conducting this tournament. MCA –Mumbai Cricket Association later gave its recognition to this women’s tournament as an MCA Approved Tournament.
Dr. Rajesh Madhvi shared with Cricketgraph: “Our aim is to provide opportunities to women cricketers. There are not many tournaments happening in Mumbai for Women Cricketers as much as it’s happening for men cricketers. We want girls from our Mumbai, Thane and Suburban area to be encouraged and take up this profession and go on to represent India. It’s a great feeling that MCA has recognized this T20 tournament and we will continue to grow higher and higher with support from all of you”
The primary aim of behind this is to have atleast one player from Thane, Suburban area representing the Mumbai and India’s International Team. With this aim and vision, they have progressed ahead and this time they have organized women’s tournament which began from 13th December where in 16 teams across Mumbai and Suburban areas have participated in the tournament. The tournament will end on 28th December with 2 matches scheduled daily amongst 4 groups.
The tournament inauguration was conducted in presence of Indian Cricketer Poonam Raut, Honorable Opp Leader Maharashtra State MLA Pravin Darekar alongwith Ex Sports Minister Ashish Shelar, MCA President Vijay Patil, MLA Niranjan Dawkhare, MCA Secretary Sanjay Naik, Joint Secretary Shah Alam and Former Indian Test Cricketer Pravin Amre. The event was further graced by MCA Apex Committee Members Vihang Sarnaik, Nadeem Memom, Dipak Patil alongwith Women Selectors Vrinda Bhagat, Leya Francis, Trupti Bhattacharya, Nirmala Shah, Shital Sakas, and Shraddha Chavan. RTO Thane Vijay Shelke, Corporators Manohar Dumre, Sanjay Waghela, Mrunal Pendse and Pratibha Madhvi were also present at the tournament inaugration’s opening ceremony.
MCA Colts opting to bat first posted a decent total on board of 266/10 in 66.1 overs. Kaushik Chikhalikar top scored for MCA Colts team with a solid looking knock of 86 runs while Aditya Dhumal (63 runs) & Onkar Jadhav (60 runs) also scored half centuries. From Karnataka Sporting Association, it was their experienced campaigner and top wicket-taker of Madhav Mantri once again coming up with a great spell of 6 wickets for 52 runs.
Defending a total of 266, it was MCA Colts spinner Shashant Attarde who simply wrecked havoc over the opposition team with his aggressive bowling performance. Shashank returned with tournament best bowling figures of 7/54 which completely rattled Karnatak Sporting Association’s batting line up restricting them to 174 all out in 36.2 overs.
Result: MCA Colts won by 92 runs
Patel Cricket Coaching Center after being put to bat first on Cross Maidan, Mumbai posted a total of 165/10 in 33.5 overs. Opener Nutan Goel scored 46 runs off 35 balls while it was Raj Desmukh coming at no.8 to change the game with an impactful knock of 52* off 29 balls. Raj smashed 10 fours at a strike rate of almost 180.00 to push his team towards a defendable total. From the bowlers, Agastya Surve with 4 wickets was the pick of the lot.
Advance Cricket Academy in reply were cleaned up for 85 runs in 33.2 overs courtesy a brilliant spell from all-rounder Mann Bhanushali. Mann returned with bowling figures of 4/27 in 8 overs while all rounder Nutan Goel who scored 46 runs also took 2/9 in 8 overs with 2 maidens as Patel Cricket Coaching Center won the match by 80 runs. Nutan Goel for his all round show was declared man of the match.
Mumbai team after opting to bat first scored a massive total of 555/9 in 135 overs courtesy some brilliant batting by their middle order. No.3 batsman Musheer Khan scored 75 runs while it was left hander Ayaz Khan who came at no.5 and went on to score a double century. Ayaz scored 205 off 217 balls which included 16 fours and 2 sixes before he got run out by fielder Y. Saini. Ayaz was well supported by Arjun Dani who scored 73 off 151 balls at no.6. Himanshu Singh (52 runs) and Aman Manihar (32 runs) at lower order further chipped in with contributions.
Jammu Kashmir in reply were all out for 212 runs courtesy a brilliant bowling spell by Aman Manihar who took 5/59 in 26.2 overs including 8 maidens. Receiving a follow on, Jammu and Kashmir again got out for a paltry total of 175 runs and this time all-rounder Musheer Khan returning with excellent bowling figures of 5/41 in 16 overs including 6 maidens.
Mumbai eventually won the match by an innings and 168 runs.
PJ Hindu Gymkhana opting to bat first at SRT Gymkhana, Kandivali posted a total of 282/10 in 70 overs with Utkarsh Raut (67 runs) and Sachin Wagh (51 runs) scoring half centuries. Apart from them, Bins Neyoth (48 runs) and Hiken Shah (41 runs) contributed with the bat for PJ Hindu Gymkhana. From the bowlers, Mumbai Senior Team all-rounder Sujit Nayak was the pick of the lot with 3/64.
Chasing 283, Cricket Club of India chased down the score successfully in 52.4 overs winning the match by 7 wickets. Attacking opener Rudra Dhanday played a match winning knock of 123 runs in 106 balls. Rudra smashed 22 fours in his brilliant innings while he got good support from Arya Satpute (29 runs) and no.3 batsman Akash Anand (60 runs). All-rounder Sujit Nayak (42*) and Aryan Bangar (20*) at the middle order played the finishers role for CCI as they clinched a commanding win over PJ Hindu Gymkhana by 7 wkts.
