Gurgaon: On 6th August 2021, a match was held between the 3G Sports Academy 1 and Mahesh Cricket Academy XI on the MCA cricket ground in Gurgaon. Winning the toss the 3G Sports Academy 1 opted to bat 1st. Batting 1st the 3G Sports Academy 1 scored 151 runs, losing 9 wickets in 27.4 overs. The Right Hand Batsmen Aarush Malhotra and Aditya were the highest run-getters for their team in the 1st innings.
Aarush Malhotra scored a 55 ball 58 runs hitting 4 fours and 1 six. Aditya, scored 58 balls 63 hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Mahesh Cricket Academy XI’s Right Arm Off Break bowler, Yash Varma bagged 4 wickets in 6.4 overs, giving away just 22 runs. Dhruv Sharma and Vinay Kataria bagged 1-1 wickets each.
Chasing the target, the Mahesh Cricket Academy XI could only score 137 runs, losing all their wickets in 37.2 overs. Mayank Kumar of the Mahesh Cricket Academy XI scored 44 runs in 73 balls, hitting 3 fours and 1 six.
The Right Arm Fast bowler, Suryansh Singh bagged 4 wickets in 7.2 overs, giving away only 15 runs. Aditya also bagged 3 wickets for his team in 4 overs giving away just 7 runs. His wickets included one of the set batsmen Mayank Kumar. Also Aarush Malhotra got 2 wickets. As a result, the 3G Sports Academy 1 won the match by 14 runs. Aditya was awarded the Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
Elite Division Final:
In the Elite Division Finals, Hurricanes after being put to bat first at Fatima Ground scored a total of 101/9 in 20 overs. With scoreboard reading 6/30 and 7/49 at one stage, it was Govind Dubey at no.9 doing the rescue act with a crucial cameo of 30*in 29 balls (2 fours). Titans in reply were all out for 81 runs with Aarya Shah taking 3/16 in 3 overs being the pick of the lot. Titans won the match by 20 runs and become the Elite Division Champions of JFSC Premier League.
The Hurricanes is the only team to win all their league matches and also the Final and emerged as the best Team of the tournament. Hurricanes team was mentored by Coach Aishwarya, led by captain Dhruv Bhanushali and Vice Captain Govind Dubey.

Scorchers win Plate Division Final:
Scorchers after opting to bat first at Fatima Cricket in Mumbai posted a total of 114/10 in 20 overs. Scorchers were struggling at one stage with the entire top, middle and lower middle order failing to convert their score into double digits. However, Aman Yadav at no.9 scored a match saving knock of 46* off 48 balls laced with 4 fours. Trailblazers in reply were all out for 95 runs courtesy tight bowling by the Scorchers bowlers where in Farhan Khan and Gaurav Yadav bagged 2 wickets each.
Scorchers won the match by 19 runs becoming the Plate Division Champions of JFSC Premier League. Aman Yadav for his brilliant 46* was declared man of the match.

Played at Dadaji Konddev Stadium in Thane, Indian Navy Sports Control Cell batting first were all out for 128 runs with wicket keeper batsman Nakul Sharma at the middle order scoring 63 off those in 108 balls. Atharva Poojari with 4/25 in 8 overs was the pick of the lot.
Jain Irrigation in reply scored 317 runs out of which more than half of the team runs were scored by Suved Parkar. Coming in at no.3, Suved Parkar turned the game around scoring a well crafted and a matured innings of 171 runs off 184 balls which had 27 boundaries in it. Suved dominated the bowlers with confidence and it was quite evident by the fact that the 2nd highest scorer in their team was Urvesh Patel with 30 runs.
Indian Navy were cleaned up for 97 runs in the 2nd innings courtesy Ranji Legend Samad Fallah and Risabh Karwa bagging 3wkts each. Jain Irrigation won the match by an innings and 82 runs.

A young cricketer from Mumbai who made a name for himself as one of the most promising batters in Tennis Ball Cricket over the last few years. Sahil Sawant cultivated a habit of clean hitting and aggressive approach in his batting making him an overnight sensation in Tennis Ball Cricket. A match winner in himself, Sahil also pursued leather ball cricket and played in various MCA Tournaments representing Apollo Cricket Club under the Coaching of Mumbai Ranji Coach Sulakshan Kulkarni.
However, in this promising story so far comes a speedbreaker and that is where we all will need to come together to help him and his family during this difficult time. Sahil was recently diagnosed with 4th Stage Acute Leukemia (Blood Cancer).The treatment requires approximately 25 Lakhs which is a very huge amount for his family to manage.

Played at the MCA BKC Ground in Mumbai, BPCL batting first posted a total of 155/10 in 41.3 overs. None of the BPCL Players crossed half century with opener Sahil Jadhav’s 47 being the highest score. All-Rounder Sairaj Patil was the pick of the lot with 3 wickets.
DY Patil B in reply scored 222 runs in their 1st innings courtesy a match saving innings by Sarvesh Damle who scored a brilliant century at the middle order. India A and Mumbai Ranji fast bowler Tushar Deshpande came up with a fiery opening spell sending the top order batsman packing. Infact, the fast bowling trio of Tushar-Minad Manjrekar and Sylvester D Souza proved too hot to handle at one stage for DY Patil as it was a treat to watch them bowl in tandem. Coming in at no.6 when the team was struggling, Sarvesh went on to score 102 off 117 balls smashing 15 boundaries. From the bowlers, Tushar Deshpande was the pick of the lot with 5/67 in 17.2 overs including 5 maidens. Sylvester D Souza also bagged 3 wickets for 50 runs.

BPCL in 2nd innings gave a brilliant comeback with the bat notching up 343 runs courtesy crucial half centuries by Pranav Kela (80 runs), Harshal Jadhav (88 runs) and Aman Manihar (62 runs). DY Patil in 2nd innings now chased a lead of 244 runs and the match ended with their score reading 143/7 in 33 overs at the end of the game’s play. The match ended in a draw with DY Patil taking the 1st innings lead while Tushar who missed out a seat in the Mumbai Ranji Squad this season stamped his presence strongly with a 7 wkt haul.
On Day 1 it was Musheer Khan, the youngster scoring a century on his Times Shield Debut and followed by Musheer’s knock, it was Skipper Siddhesh Lad coming at no.8 and going on to score a brilliant 164 runs off 138 balls. Siddhesh smashed 22 fours and 6 sixes while he was nicely supported by Rohan Raje with whom he stitched 187 runs for the 8th wicket. Khizar Dafedar at the middle order also scored 65 runs off 70 balls taking the team total to 538/10 in 119.4 overs.
Mumbai Customs SC who lost their Top 4 top order batters early were in deep trouble at one stage with half of the team back to pavilion and a huge trail to cover. However, Sachin Wagh at no.5 and Parag Khanapurkar at no.6 stitched a record 260 run partnership bringing Mumbai Customs back into the competition. Sachin Wagh scored 150 off 229 balls while Parag scored 148 runs off 209 balls smashing 20 fours and 3 sixes.

Mumbai Customs reached a total of 487/10 in 121 overs just falling short of 51 runs in what could have been a memorable win. However, it was a brilliant match wherein both the teams gave it their all with over 1000+ runs recorded across 2 days. Musheer showed grace and confidence at a young age vs bowlers seniors to him, Siddhesh brought in all his experience while Parag and Sachin displayed amazing resistance to give a fight and ensure the match remained an exciting encounter till the very end.

Played at Challenger Cricket Ground in Bhiwandi, Rocket Cricket Academy opting to bat first posted a total of 203/8 in 36 overs. Opener Pratik Goske top scored with 53 runs while Samrat Mitra with 3/32 was the pick of the bowlers. Apart from Samrat, Rohit Phatak also bagged 2 wickets.
Chasing 204, Prime Group CC were in deep trouble at one stage with scoreboard reading 96/7 and 112/8 by the end of the 22nd over. The match was shifted towards Rocket C’A’s side with them looking favorites. However, a change in script occurred when all-rounder Rohit Phatak who came at no.8 turned the course of the game with a heroic innings of 70* off 71 balls smashing 4 fours and 4 sixes.
It was a brilliant finish courtesy Rohit taking on the bowlers and not giving up on the chase as Prime Group CC went on to win the match by 2 wickets.

Real Cricket Academy after being put to bat first on Yuva Multi Sports Ground in Kalyan posted a massive total of 368/5 in 32 overs. After losing the openers early, Rudved Rane (53 runs) and Siddhant Sinha (53 runs) stabilized the innings for Real C.A. Coming in at no.6, Mann Bhanushali further pounced on the positive momentum taking his team towards a commanding position. Mann who was in U14 Probables for Mumbai showcased impressive batting smashing 100 runs off 42 balls laced with 17 boundaries and a six.
Yuva Multi Sports B in reply were all out for 96 runs with Mann being the pick of the bowlers too grabbing 3wkts while conceding only 1 run in 3 overs. Real Cricket Academy won the match by 272 runs and Mann Bhanushali was declared man of the match.

Played at Parsee Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai, Parsee Cyclists Sports Club opting to bat first posted a total of 206/9 in 40 overs. Opener Kaushabh Chalke top scored for his team scoring 80 runs off 87 balls. Kaushabh smashed 11 fours and batted till the 31st over anchoring his team towards a respectable total.
Young Parsee CC in reply were bundled out for 145 runs courtesy a match winning bowling spell by spinner Darshan Tiwari. Darshan returned with an impactful bowling performance scalping 6 wkts for 35 runs in 7.4 overs. Parsee Cyclists won the match by 51 runs and it was certainly Darshan and Kaushabh who stood out as performers in the match.
The second edition of the much-awaited MCA BKC RC Members Premier League (MPL) will kick start from February 25, with five elite teams locking horns against each other, to ultimately clinch the championship. The first season saw many players making a mark in the tournament and on the basis of that, five icon players, one from each team have been identified.
The five teams participating in this marquee competition are, JC Four Oaks Spartans, DDPL XI Wizards, Hemant Tool Tornadoes, Marshalls Royals and Spottlightt Social Scorchers. Team JC Four Oaks Spartans is owned by Ravindra Jhunjhunwala and Sumiran Mehta, with Vijay Singh being the icon player. Team DDPL XI Wizards is owned by Piyush Patel and the icon player of the team is Ojas Mehta. Team Hemant Tool Tornadoes is owned by Vivek Zaveri and the icon player is Chetan Kapoor. Team Marshalls Royals is owned by Karan Sharma and the icon player is Jeetendra Diwan. Team Spottlightt Social Scorchers is owned by Deepaq Modgil and the icon player is Abhishek Javeri.

Ojas Mehta (DDPL Strikers): In the world of cricket, a phrase that is commonly used is “horses for courses”. For DDPL XI Wizards, Ojas Mehta was a perfect testimony to this phrase. Coming in place of an injured player in the Gold final of the MPL last year, DDPL XI Wizards bought Ojas for 11,000 credits. It was a complete “paisa vasool” for the team owner as Ojas went on to score a century in the all important Gold final. Ojas was one of the most prolific batters in the last season’s MPL.
Ojas is a right handed opening batter and a right arm leg spinner. Apart from being an enterprising businessman off the field, he is a swashbuckling cricketer on the field. He is an avid lover of the sport and plays cricket for several teams like Bombay Scottish School Dad’s team, Old Monk, a private team, of which former India cricketer Ramesh Powar is a part of, JC (Just Cricket) team, and ofcourse DDPL XI Wizards.

Jeetinder Diwan (Marshalls Royals):

A banker by profession, Jeetinder Diwan is unequivocally one of the most bankable players in the MPL. Playing for Marshalls Royals in the first edition of MPL, this right handed opening batter made some useful contributions at the top of the order. He was more often than not responsible for providing a solid start to his team with the bat.
The opening batter was the top run scorer for his team in the last edition of MPL. His team was able to score big, courtesy of his stellar batting performance. He is an experienced cricketer, having played cricket for a host of teams including JNS Jaguars School Dad’s team, JC team and Marshalls Royals.

Vijay Singh (JC Four Oaks Spartans): Being a real estate advisor, trust forms an integral part of Vijay Singh’s profession. Not only off the field can one trust him with his ability to offer a good advice but also he can be trusted on the field, especially when he walks out to bat in crunch situations. Vijay is a right handed middle order batter and is known for his hard hitting abilities. He is a genuine hitter and can play quick fire cameos to bail out his team from crisis. In the last season’s MPL, with his blitzkrieg, he steered his team to the championship, as JC Four Oaks Spartans won the Platinum final. Vijay Singh is also the skipper of MCA BKC RC Team.
The creator of MCA RC Cricket Team four years back, he has been an active cricketer and organizer of MCA BKC RC MPL. Apart from representing JC Four Oaks Spartans in the MPL, he plays for Old Monk, JC and St. Mary School Dad’s team.

Abhishek Javeri (Spottlightt Social Scorchers): The Managing Director of a big corporate house like Sadhana Nitrochem Ltd., Abhishek Javeri’s home club is Ace Cricket Club & he knows the importance of team work off the field as well as on the field which makes him a stupendous team player.
Abhishek is a right arm speedster and a right handed middle order batter. He made some useful contributions with both bat and ball in the last season of MPL, thanks to his genuine all-round abilities. Chetan Kapoor (Hemant Tool Tornadoes): Chetan is a right handed opening batter and a right arm off spinner. Chetan used to be a medium pacer but now he is bowling off-spin. Working in the airline industry as a general manager, he has the wings to lift his team from any kind of difficult situations with ease, courtesy of his magnificent all-round abilities. In the last season of the MPL, he showcased his innate talent with both bat and ball.
Chetan is an avid cricketer and plays for different teams like AVM School Dad’s team, JC and Hemant Tool Tornadoes in the MCA BKC RC MPL. The Tornadoes will want this all-rounder to fire on all cylinders in this edition of the MPL too.
Registrations for the IDFC First Bank MCA BKC RC Members Premier League are open till 6pm on February 11, 2022. On February 12, 2022, there will be a player auction at MCA in Bandra-Kurla Complex between 10am and 3pm. Team owners, icon players and other players in the MPL will be a part of the ceremony.
