Defending a total of 241, Sunrise Sports Club were restricted to 109 runs all out courtesy a match winning bowling spell by Vishal Yadav who took 5/30 in 8 overs. Spinner Vishal provided timely breakthroughs not allowing the opposition team to settle down as Modern Cricket Club won the match by 132 runs.
Parsee Gymkhana after being put to bat first managed to post a modest total on board scoring 130/10 in 19.5 overs. Nikhil Patil with 35 runs was the highest scorer while Pacer Prathamesh Dake with 3/25 was the pick of the lot.
Chasing 131, CCI received a tough fight from Parsee Gymkhana bowlers not allowing CCI bowlers to score freely. The match remained exciting till the penultimate delivery with eventually Cricket Club of India finishing the innings at 130/7 in 20 overs ending the match in a tie. Saksham Parashar with 63 runs was the highest scorer from CCI.
Entering a super over to decide the winner, CCI smashed 13/0 in one over while Parsee Gymkhana lost 2 wkts in 4 balls as CCI won the Super Over by 7 runs and winning the semi finals.
Played at Karnatak SA, Cross Maidan, Anjuman Islam Alana CSTM School after being made to bat first posted a massive total of 420/2 in 42 overs. Left-handed Abhigyan Kundu smashed 123 off just 64 balls smashing 18 fours and 4 sixes while Aryan Chauhan top scored in the match hitting 180 off 124 balls which included 21 boundaries and 2 sixes. Krish Singh who came at no.3 also played well scoring 77 off 56 balls.
Saraswati Mandir High School in reply were cleaned up for 62 runs in 16.1 overs with Tauheer Khan taking 3/19 in 4 overs. Anjuman Islam won the match by 358 runs and it was certainly Aryan and Abhiyan stealing the show with their centuries.
Played at Navroz CC, Maria Sports Academy after being put to bat first were all out for 109 runs in 33 overs. Altamash Siddique at the middle order was the highest scorer with 32 runs while Yash Mishra with 3/8 in 6 overs including 3 maidens was the pick of the lot. Panvel Cricket Academy in reply chased down the score in 23.2 overs winning the match by 5 wickets. Opener Saish Surve (35 runs) and Anand Shedge (30 runs) contributed with the bat in their team’s win. PCA won the match by 5 wkts while Yash Mishra for his tight bowling performance was declared ‘man of the match’
Played at Air India Sports Ground in Kalina, Santacruz, Indian Oil Sports Club opting to bat first posted a massive total of 507/10 in 101 overs. Suryansh Shedge coming at no.3 played a swashbuckling innings smashing a brilliant 141 off 110 balls, a knock which included 22 fours and 2 sixes. Suryansh stitched a crucial partnership with no.4 batsman Atharva Kale who scored 88 runs. Siddhesh Lad who came at no.5 brought up his 2nd Times Shield Ton this season signaling his ominous touch with the bat. Siddhesh scored 106 runs off 99 balls which included 12 fours and 4 sixes. Imtiyaz Khan who came at no.8 also scored a quickfire knock of 52 runs in 24 balls smashing 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Navroz CC in reply were all out for 121 runs with Jassim Mathroo taking 4/29 in 7.5 overs being the pick of the lot. Borivali CC won the match by 123 runs and qualify for the finals of the tournament which will be played on Sunday at MCA BKC Ground in a daynight encounter.
It was the all important semi finals clash between Islam Gymkhana and MCA Colts where in MCA Colts batting first posted a total of 169/7 in 17 overs. Defending a total of 264, Mulund Challengers restricted Gamdevi Cricketers to 217 all out in 40.3 overs courtesy a match winning bowling spell from spinner Atif Khan. Atif returned with excellent bowling figures of 5/30 in 9 overs with 2 maidens as Mulund Challengers won the match by 46 runs. The auction for the second edition of the IDFC First Bank MCA BKC RC Members Premier League (MPL) took place on February 12 at the MCA BKC facility. The owners of five participating teams were present during the auction. The five teams that will lock horns against each other in the MPL are JC Four Oaks Spartans, DDPL Strikers, Hemant Tool Tornadoes, Marshalls Royals and Spottlightt Social Scorchers. Each of the team owners made their picks during the auction.
In this article, we will look at the 12 players selected by Marshalls Royals, a team owned by Karan Sharma. The icon player of Marshalls Royals is Jeetinder Diwan. Marshalls Royals is 14-players strong, including 12 selected in the auction, one owner and one icon player.
