On March 17, Bhavishya Nidhi Staff C.C. and Thane Municipal Corporation clashed against each other during the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) Corporate Trophy tournament. Thane Municipal Corporation won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Batting first, Bhavishya Nidhi Staff C.C. posted a mammoth score of 6-310 in 38 overs. Amit Tawde top scored with a delectable 97. Tawde was unfortunate to miss out on a well-deserved century. He received support from Nipul Bhansali (48) and Dushyant Kadam (35). On the other hand, Thane Municipal Corporation’s bowlers did not have a great day at the office.
In reply, Thane Municipal Corporation could manage to score a paltry 48. They were bowled out in just 18.4 overs, thanks to disciplined bowling by Bhavishya Nidhi Staff C.C. Saurabh Sharma and Gosu Koteshwararao were the wreckers-in-chief as they struck with 4-5 and 4-16 respectively. Thane Municipal Corporations’s batters did not look in good shape as their team lost by a massive margin of 262 runs.
Amit Tawde of Bhavishya Nidhi Staff C.C. was the top performer of the match. Tawde scored 97 runs to help his team post 310 against Thane Municipal Corporation and win the match by 262 runs during the MCA Corporate Trophy.
On March 17, New India Assurance S.C. locked horns against Abhyudaya Bank S.C. during the MCA Corporate Trophy tournament. Abhyudaya Bank S.C. won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Riding on a scintillating century from Sumit Mishra, New India Assurance S.C. piled up a daunting total of 6-275 in 40 overs. Mishra muscled a delectable 115 to steer his team to a challenging score. He received good support from Shubham Ghatge, who chipped in with a useful 42. Abhyudaya Bank S.C.’s bowlers did not have a great outing with the ball as they failed to pose any threat to New India Assurance S.C.’s batters.
In reply, Abhyudaya Bank S.C. scored 9-200 in 40 overs, losing the match by 75 runs. Akshay Pujare (75) and Satish Rane (37) fought hard but could not get the required support from the rest of the batters to chase down the target set by New India Assurance S.C. Neel Kadam was the pick of the bowlers for New India Assurance S.C. as he struck with 3-45.
Sumit Mishra was the top performer of the match as his crucial innings of 115 helped New India Assurance S.C. to beat Abhyudaya Bank S.C. by 75 runs during the MCA Corporate Trophy.
With this win, New India Assurance have qualified for the semi-finals of the MCA Corporate Trophy and they will take on Indusind Bank on March 24.

Played at Parsee Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai, United Friends after being put to bat first got all out for a modest total on board scoring 125/10 in 17 overs. Omkar Ghule with 43 runs off 23 balls was the highest scorer while the rest of the batters found it difficult to get going. From the bowlers, Irfran Umair impressed one and all returning with bowling figures of 4/19 in 4 overs.
For Souvenir CC, chasing 126 looked like a mere formality as experienced campaigner Kevin Almeida opening the innings made chase look easy. Kevin scored an attacking 72*off 43 balls smashing 10 fours and 2 sixes while also stitched an unbeaten 115* run stand for the 2nd wicket with Gaurav Jathar who remained not out on 35* of 29 balls as Souvenir CC won the match by 9 wkts & 7 overs to spare.
Played at the Iconic Parsee Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai, Marwari CC after being put to bat first dominated the bowlers quite well smashing a more than handsome total on board of 216/3 in 20 overs. All- Rounder Akash Parkar who is known for his big hitting abilities delivered for Marwari CC smashing an impressive 93* off 45 balls. Akash was well supported by Shreeraj Gharat who smashed 86 off 59 balls as both the players stitched a crucial partnership.
However, Parsee Gymkhana showed, that they are a very difficult side to beat especially on their home ground as opener Vikrant Auti went all guns blazing scoring a match wining unbeaten century. Vikrant scored 115* off mere 59 balls as he kept the require run rate in check while Nikhil Patil’s 147 ball 54 played an equally impactful role in Parsee Gymkhana’s 5 wkt win over Marwari CC.

Mumbai Cricketer Pranav Kela who has been piling on runs consistently at different age groups continues to display his ominous touch with the bat. This season, Pranav started with a bang in Shalini Bhalekar Tournament, the same tournament where he scored an unbeaten double century in 2019. Followed by his hundred in Shalini Bhalekar Triphy, Pranv displayed some consistent batting in A Division Times Shield representing BPCL who became the champions of A Division Times Cricket Shield.
In MCA Shalini Bhalekar Tournament which is a selection Tournament for Mumbai U25 Team, Pranav scored a brilliant knock of 136*followed by a hundred and 2 half centuries in Times Shield. In the first match of A Division Times Shield, Pranav scored 110 runs followed by a solid 80 in the 2nd match and then scored a crucial 72 vs Central Railways in the all important finals where BPCL were crowned Champions.

Mumbai: Defending champions Islam Gymkhana rode on the fine efforts of all-rounder Vinayak Bhoir (3 for 13 runs and a quick 25-balls 36 runs (3x4s, 2x6s) and middle-order batsman Nilkanth Parab solid 47 runs (44 balls, 4x4s, 2x6s) started with a 6-wicket victory against Bombay Gymkhana in a first-round match of the 72nd Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Islam Gymkhana under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association, and played at the Gymkhana’s ground on Saturday.
Bombay Gymkhana was sent in to bat first scored 132 for 8 wickets from 20 overs. Opening batsman Arsalan Shaikh was the top-scorer with 33 runs, while Siddant Singh contributed 21 runs. Left-arm spinner Bhoir got three crucial wickets and the other left-arm spinner Salil Agharkar (2/12) were among the wickets.
Later, Parab and Bhoir put on 66 runs for the fourth wicket to ensure the home team chased the target reaching 136 for the loss of 4 wickets in 16.5 overs.
Meanwhile, last year’s runners-up Muslim United Sports Club also started on a winning note registering a fluent 9-wicket win against Apollo CC. Apollo CC batting first could only score 83 runs in 17.1 overs. Nutan Goel 26 runs and Omkar Rahate 24 runs were the only batters to get some runs, Parikshit Valsangkar and Yash Chavan picked up three wickets each, while Dhrumil Matkar claimed 2 wickets. Muslim United lost just one wicket in reaching 84 runs. Opening batsmen Sidhaant Adhatrao 42 (26 balls, 5×4, 2×6), and Jash Ganiga 31 not out ensured their win.

In another match, P.J. Hindu Gymkhana charged to an 86-run victory against Kurla Sports Club. Batting first, Hindu Gymkhana made 169 for 8 wickets in 20 overs and then bowled out Kurla SC for 83 runs in 18.3 overs.
In the third match of the day, Mumbai Police Gymkhana scored an easy 109 runs victory against Muslim Sports Club. Electing to bat, the Mumbai Police were dismissed for 129 runs in 19 overs. Shrikant Limbole and Swapnil Khule scored 40 and 31 runs respectively to prop the total. Santosh Mahapor (4/33), John Abraham (2/12), and Atul Singh (2/16) shared the wickets. In reply, Muslims SC was dismissed cheaply for only 20 runs in 10 overs. Medium-pacer Amit Yadav (5/12), and Yogesh Patil (3/3) were responsible for the massive win.

Mumbai: A total of 16 teams, including hosts and defending champions Islam Gymkhana and runners-up Muslim United Sports Club will be competing for the top honours in the 72nd Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Islam Gymkhana under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association, which starts from Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Strong favorites Parsee Gymkhana, Mumbai Police Gymkhana, Bombay Gymkhana, P.J. Hindu Gymkhana, and Souvenir Cricket Club have all confirmed their participation in the tournament.
The other participating teams include Muslim Sports Club, Bohra Cricket Club, Young Friends Sports Club, United Friends Sports Club, Marwari Sports Club, Kurla Sports Club, Sponsor XI, Young Mohammedan Cricket Club, and Apollo Cricket Club.
The initial round of matches will be played at Parsee Gymkhana ground, Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground, Karnatak Sporting Association, and the Islam Gymkhana grounds. The two semi-finals and the final will be played at the Islam Gymkhana.

On March 15 and March 16, CGST & C.EX.Mumbai Zone locked horns against Repro India Ltd. during the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) Corporate Trophy tournament. Repro India Ltd. won the toss and elected to bowl first.
CGST & C.EX.Mumbai Zone posted a mammoth score of 361 in 67.4 overs before they were bowled out by Repro India Ltd. Yash Chavan top scored with a masterclass 111 and found able allies in Rohan Marwaha (67), Prayag Bhatti (58) and Sagar Mishra (47). For Repro India Ltd. Yash Mahale was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 5-105.
In reply, Repro India Ltd. could only manage to score a modest 173 as they were bundled out in 47.5 overs, losing the match by 188 runs. Sagar Mishra and Prayag Bhatti, who earlier starred with bat, performed well with the ball too as they ran through the opposition batting line up in quick time. While the slow left arm spinner Mishra wreaked havoc with 7-54, Bhatti struck with 3-3. Repro India Ltd.’s batters did not have any answers to the questions posed by Mishra and Bhatti.

On March 11, the Tata Power Co. Ltd. and J.K. Sports Club clashed against each other at Matunga Gymkhana during the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) Corporate Trophy tournament. The Tata Power Co. Ltd. won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Riding on twin half-centuries from middle order bat Navnath Pawar (59 runs off 47 balls) and top order bat Atharva Adhikari (53 runs off 59 balls), J.K. Sports Club posted a fighting score of 226 in 38.5 overs. While Pawar hammered six boundaries and three sixes, Adhikari smashed five boundaries and two sixes. J.K. Sports Club were bowled out by the Tata Power Co. Ltd, thanks to right arm seamer Wilkin Mota, who wreaked havoc with the ball picking up 3-26 in 5.5 overs. Mota opened the bowling and bowled well with the new ball.
In reply, the Tata Power Co. Ltd. chased down the target with ease in 30.4 overs to win the match by four wickets. Opening batter Rohan Bane led the run chase from the front as he crafted a delectable 69 off 35 balls and received good support from Santosh Dighe and Uday Kolambe, who mustered 36 runs each. For J.K.Sports Club, the right arm off spinner Atharva Adhikari was the pick of the bowlers as he struck with 2-56 in eight overs. Adhikar’s all-round effort went in vain as his team J.K.Sports Club lost to the Tata Power Co. Ltd. by four wickets during the MCA Corporate Trophy.
Just fresh from a century in JFSC’s T20 tournament, Jay Bhoir continues his purple patch with the bat this time with an impactful half century. CISCO batting first scored a total of 147/8 in 20 overs with Suraj (42 runs) and Vinay (32 runs) being the top scorers. From the bowlers, Jaykishan with 4/29 in 3 overs was the pick of the lot.
Incred in reply chased down the score with ease wining the match by 3wkts and 3.2 overs to spare. Incred who were struggling at one stage with scoreboard reading 5/78, it was Jay Bhoir at no.7 who scored 60* off 33 balls which included 6 fours and 1 six to push his team towards a exciting victory.
