On March 25, WNS Global Services P.L. B Team took on Ocwen Financial Solutions P.L. during the MCA Corporate Trophy tournament. Ocwen Financial Solutions won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Riding on twin centuries from Kshitij Kanade and Vedprakash Jaiswal, WNS Global Services P.L. B Team posted a mammoth 3-315 in 40 overs. Kanade, who opened the batting muscled 119 runs, while Jaiswal, who came in at number three plundered an unbeaten 112. The duo played some good looking shots and ran well between the wickets. They stitched a 220-run partnership for the second wicket. On the other hand, Ocwen Financial Solutions P.L. had an off day with the ball. They could pick up just the three wickets, including one run out.

In reply, Ocwen Financial Solutions P.L. could manage to score 143. They were bowled out in 36.3 overs, losing the match by 172 runs. Deepak Singh top scored with 43 runs. However Singh did not find able allies with the bat. On the other hand, WNS Global Services P.L. B Team’s Harsh Mishra and Shivprakash Jaiswal enjoyed their bowling. They picked up 3-27 and 3-38 respectively.

Kshitij Kanade and Vedprakash Jaiswal were the top performers with the bat. They powered WNS Global Services P.L. B Team to a 172-run win over Ocwen Financial Solutions P.L. during the MCA Corporate Trophy.

Mumbai: Parsee Gymkhana charged into the final defeating last year’s runners-up Muslim United Sports Club by 61 runs in a semi-final match of the 72nd Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Islam Gymkhana under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association, and played at the Parsee Gymkhana ground on Saturday.

Put in to bat first, the Parsee Gymkhana batters looked comfortable as they batted confidently and amass a massive total of 225 runs for the loss of just three wickets from 20 overs. Muslim United failed in their chase of the stiff target as they were restricted to 164 runs for seven wickets from their 20 overs and made their exit.

Openers Aakarshit Gomel 48 runs (41 balls, 6x4s) and Vikrant Auti 38 runs (20 balls, 5x4s, 2x6s) provided Parsee Gymkhana a solid start with a 64 runs partnership. Later, Gomel along with Sachin Yadav 63 runs (33 balls, 3x4s, 5x6s) scored a further 47 runs for the second wicket. The Muslim United bowlers continued to face the onslaught as Yadav in the company of Nikhil Patil 48 runs (21 balls, 1x4s, 5x6s) stitched together a quick 79-run third wicket partnership to boost the Parsee Gymkhana innings.

Chasing a stiff winning target, Muslim United recovered after an early setback as Humayu Hirapure 39 runs (29 balls, 2x4s, 3x6s) and Siddharth Aadhathrao 34 runs (20 balls, 4x4s, 1x6s) revived the innings with a 83-run association for the second wicket. But, the Parsee Gymkhana bowlers picked wickets at regular intervals to put the brakes on the Muslim United innings which closed 61 runs short of the winning target.

Brief scores: Parsee Gymkhana 225 for 3 wickets, 20 overs (Aakarshit Gomel 48, Vikrant Auti 38, Sachin Yadav  63, Nikhil Patil 48) beat Muslim United Sports Club 164 for 6 wickets, 20 overs (Humayu Hirapure 39, Siddharth Aadhathrao 34; Vikrant Auti 2/21, Osama Chaudhary 2/31). Result: Parsee Gymkhana won by 61 runs.

On March 24, E. Merck Sports Club took on Cosmos Maya India P.L.. This was the first semi-final of ‘D’ Division in MCA Corporate Trophy tournament. The match was played at the Air India ground in Mumbai. Cosmos Maya India P.L. won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Cosmos Maya India P.L. were bundled out for 172 in 39.4 overs. Karan Vasshodia top scored with 55 runs off 64 balls. However, Vasshodia failed to find able allies with the bat. On the other hand, E.Merck Sports Club’s Vaibhav Sawant and Vaishnav Sail were the top performers with the ball as they scalped 3-27 and 3-31 respectively.

In reply, E.Merck Sports Club completed the formalities in 34.2 overs. They won the match by five wickets. Ayush Vartak (81 not out off 86 balls) led the run chase from the front. Batting at number three, Vartak’s innings was embellished with four boundaries and as many sixes. On the other hand, Cosmos Maya India P.L.’s Akram Shaikh and Parag Mestry struck with 2-22 and 2-46 respectively. The duo opened the bowling for Cosmos Maya India P.L.

Ayush Vartak of E. Merck Sports Club was the top performer of the match. He scored 81 not out off 86 balls. He also picked up 1-19. Vartak’s all-round performance helped E.Merck Sports Club beat Cosmos Maya India P.L. in the first semi-final of ‘D’ Division in the MCA Corporate Trophy.

In their Second League Match in Group A of F Division at Azad Maidaan, “Aruprit Tigers”, upon winning the Toss and electing to bat first, scored 244 Runs in their stipulated 40 Overs and then thrashed “Allied Digital Sports Club” for 106 Runs in 31.5 Overs. A staggering 244 runs by Arupit Tigers made a convincing win for themselves at MCA Corporate Trophy 2022. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, VICKY PATIL steals the limelight by
scoring 91 off 92 BALLS.  Also  commendable all round performance by Hrishikesh
Pawar smashing 5 boundaries and taking 3 crucial wickets for the team.

On the other hand, Allied Digital was mislaying getting all out at 31.5 overs itself and a score of 106
runs lately. Ashutosh Mali, scoring 44 runs after a tight spot where the opening batsman getting out
at golden duck. The partnership between right arm spinners Azim khan and Ashutosh Mali pitching
4 and 2 wickets respectively paved a way during this tricky situation.

VICKY PATIL of Arupit TIGERS being the TOP performer of the match and Hrishikesh Pawar helping
the team by his all rounder performance made a partial win for the team. Simant Dubey contributed with 2 Wickets in 17 Runs from his 6 Overs. Rushi Lokhande, Tushar Chate, Aakash Jangid and Siddhesh Gavande took 1 Wicket each to bundle out Allied Digital’s Batting Lineup for mere 106 Runs. All the players of Aruprit Tigers did well as a Team to provide a Thumping Victory by 138 Runs to strengthen their chances to reach the Quarterfinals in F Division of MCA Corporate Trophy 2022 with last League match remaining and carrying the record of 2 Wins in 2 Matches.

Well! To play overseas at any level is a great experience because you get to play under different conditions, one gets to meet different type of people and players, one gets to learn about new conditions and coaching styles, one gets to know about different cultures. It becomes all the more special if you get to play in a Country where cricket is celebrated as a festival and some of the biggest International stars participate in it.

Two Mumbaikars, Shailesh Nakashe from Warriors Cricket Club and Mahesh Kesarkar who are born & brought up in Mumbai played in the latest edition of Barbados Open 2022 and share their experience with Cricketgraph. Mahesh and Shailesh  both played for South West Bandits Team from UK and it was an altogether memorable experience for them. Shailesh plays Club and Corporate Cricket in Mumbai & is also the co-founder of Warriors Cricket Club in Mumbai. Mahesh on the other hand is also born and brought up in Mumbai, he also played a lot of Maidan Cricket in Mumbai. Mahesh currently resides in USA and he also plays professional cricket in USA. Mahesh has also been the Captain of USA Team in the LMS World Series.

The Barbados Open 2022 Tournament in West Indies organized by Last Man Stands is a 5 ball per over T20 Tournament played in the land which has given some of the biggest cricketing legends. AB De Villiers is the Brand Ambassador of this tournament and many popular Professional Cricketers play in this tournament. The tournament was conducted in some of the Top International  Stadiums like Kensington Oval, Queen’s Park, Sabina Park to name a few.

Barbados Open 2022 was a memorable and successful tournament where in each team got minimum 4 League Matches which were live streamed to give a professional experience. Players from each team had their own Team Jerseys, Trousers, Pad Covers, Limited Edition Caps, Travel Polos, Rucksacks and tickets to opening and closing Ceremonies. The 2022 Edition of Barbados Open witnessed some Major Stars like Dwayne Smith, Herschelle Gibbs, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Abdul Razzaq, Nick Compton gracing the tournament.

 

Shailesh Nakashe shared with Cricketgraph-  This was my second experience playing on the tournament. First i had played for World champs in Dec 2019 at Sydney representing a club called Westfield Moose. It’s a completely different game all together with 8 players a side with t20 format of 5 balls a over. And many new rules. It’s exciting and we get to play alongside international players. I was privileged to play and hard a good partnership with Dwayne Smith. This tournament is organised in different countries with its next tour of world champ coming up in Dec 2022 in Cape Town.

Well, Cricket is one sport is not only a rage but ever growing market in India and especially in Mumbai. There are thousands of professional cricketers grinding daily on various maidans of Mumbai, there are millions of cricket lovers in India and lakhs of amateur players who simply breathe cricket!

TSL Tournament format was divided into 2 Rounds of Division Qualifiers followed by 7 League Games for each team to qualify for the Qualifiers and Eliminator followed by the all important finals.

Islam Gymkhana opting to bat first on their home ground feasted on the opposition bowlers scoring a record 261 runs in 20 overs in the 72nd Salarjung Tournament making it the highest team total of this season as well as of all time.  No.3 batsman Swapnil Salvi who arrived at the crease in the 3rd over of the game went on to smash a marathon innings of 163* off mere 58 balls. Swapnil played at an unbelievable strike rate smashing as many as 18 sixes and 8 boundaries in his 92 min stay at the crease. This knock turns out to be the fastest hundred of all time in Salar Jung Tournament. Swapnil also added a few more records to his name like Highest Number of Individual Sixes in an innings in Salarjung Tournament and Highest Individual Score of Salar Jung Tournament. Shubham Ranjane at no.4 scored 49 runs off 27 balls smashing 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Souvenir CC in reply gave a tough fight scoring 209/9 in 20 overs but the target eventually was too high for any team to chase. From Souvenir, Gaurav Jathar’s 58 was the highest score. Islam Gymkhana won the match by 52 runs and quality for the finals of the tournament. A crucial role was played by Shubham Ranjane too who returned with excellent bowling figures of 6/26 in 4 overs being the pick of the lot. Shubham became the first bowler of the season to take a fifer in a T20 Match in Mumbai’s Top Division Cricket.

On March 22, JSW Steel locked horns against MTNL Mumbai during the MCA Corporate Trophy tournament. JSW Steel won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Batting first, MTNL Mumbai were bundled out for a paltry 79 in 25.5 overs. Harsh Gharsun top scored with 36 runs. However, Gharsun failed to find able allies with the bat. On the other hand, JSW Steel’s Amit Mishra had a great outing with the ball as he scalped 4-25. Mishra simply rattled the opposition batting with his disciplined bowling. 

In reply, JSW Steel chased down the target in 15.1 overs, to win the match by five wickets. Arjun Thapa top scored with 32 runs to lead the run chase. On the other hand, the MTNL Mumbai bowlers had an ordinary outing with the ball as they failed to bowl out JSW Steel.

Amit Mishra of JSW Steel was the top performer of the match. He picked up 4-25 to steer JSW Steel to a win against MTNL Mumbai during the MCA Corporate Trophy.

On March 24, New India Assurance Sports Club took on Indusind Bank Ltd at the Western Railway ground in Mumbai. It was the second semi-final of ‘E’ Division in the MCA Corporate Trophy tournament. Indusind Bank Ltd. won the toss and elected to bat first.

Indusind Bank Ltd. posted a respectable score of 167 in 37.4 overs. They were bowled out by New India Assurance, thanks to Abhishek Walnekar.  Walnekar, a  left arm spinner wreaked havoc with the ball picking up 5-26 in 7.4 overs. Walnekar bowled well in tandem with Vinay Kunwar who struck with 3-19. On the other hand, Indusind Bank Ltd.’s opening batter Mihir Angne top scored with 52 runs off 81 balls.

In reply, New India Assurance Sports Club chased down the target in 35.3 overs, to win the match by two wickets. Vinay Kunwar, a left handed middle order batter, muscled an unbeaten 57 off 59 balls. Kunwar led the run chase from the front. Abhishek Walnekar too chipped in with a useful 39-ball 31. On the other hand, Sagar Ghadigaonkar and Manish Yadav were the wicket-takers for Indusind Bank Ltd. as they bagged 4-42 and 4-29 respectively.

Abhishek Walnekar and Vinay Kunwar of New India Assurance were the top performers of the match. Their brilliant all-round effort helped New India Assurance win the semi-final against Indusind Bank Ltd during the MCA Corporate Trophy.

On March 23, Reliance Group Sports Club locked horns against Cipla Ltd. It was the second semi-final of ‘C’ Division in the MCA Corporate Trophy tournament. Cipla Ltd. won the toss and elected to bat first.

Cipla Ltd. posted a respectable score of 9-217 in 40 overs. Opening batter Rohit Purabiya top scored with a 97-ball 65. Purabiya received support from middle order batter Bipin Waghela, who chipped in with an unbeaten 57 off 39 balls. On the other hand, the left arm spinner Mayur Deolekar was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 3-32 in eight overs, including two maidens. Onkar Jadhav bowled well in tandem with Deolekar to pick up 2-47 in seven overs.

In reply, Reliance Group Sports Club chased down the target in 35.1 overs, to win the match by two wickets. Akash Ayyar (68 runs off 65 balls) and Rakesh Chaudhary (51 runs off 53 balls) led the run chase from the front. Mayur Deolekar (38 not out off 25 balls) too made a useful contribution with the bat lower down the order. On the other hand, Suchit Devle was the wrecker-in-chief for Cipla Ltd. as he bagged 4-29 in eight overs.

A complete team effort by Reliance Group Sports Club ensured them a two-wicket win in the semi-final against Cipla Ltd. during the MCA Corporate Trophy.
