In the head on contest  between Vision Blue and Fallah Cricket Academy in the Vison Summer Cup 2022 tournament held at Vision Cricket Academy Pune. Vision Blue opted to bat first must have been disappointed by their call as the team could score only 54 runs at the loss of 10 wickets in 16.4 overs as the highest individual score was by Anvay Ajay Raykar of 10 runs!

Yash Sasane, became  man of the moment as he took 3 wickets in 5 overs and also scored 40 runs in only 15 balls by playing with strike rate of 266 runs helping Fallah Cricket Club gain victory over their opponents! Yash displayed promising all-round performance and ensured his team won in a commanding manner.

 The recent match played between Manya Cricket Academy and Tittans Cricket Academy in the Sonnet Cup (U-14 tournament) played at Sonnet Cricket Academy, Agra where Tittans Cricket Academy won the toss and elected to field first, but did not go right as Manya Cricket Academy scored 361 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 40 overs as their opening batters Lovekush Baghel and Deepak Paliwal gave a quality partnership as they scored 228 and 59 respectively!

The former- Lovekush Baghel scored a massive double hundred in only 123 balls with 28 fours and 5 sixes and became the man of the match! Bharati Singh and Aditya ,the rival  bowlers took 2 wickets each. As the Tittans came out to bat, they fell short of 117 runs as they could score only 244 runs at the loss of all their wickets where the skipper,  Sheersh scored 52 runs in 38 balls with 9 fours. Umesh Mudgal of the Manya Cricket Academy took 4 wickets in only 6 overs giving a minimal of 35 runs!

On April 26, Aruprit Tigers took on Saraswat Bank at Central Maidan in Thane during the Thanevaibhav Corporate Tournament. Saraswat Bank won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Saraswat Bank put together 9-110 in 20 overs, with Ranjit Nalwade top scoring with 28 runs off 32 balls. Abhijit Kshirsagar was the other major contributor with the bat as he chipped in with 21 runs off 15 balls. On the other hand, for Aruprit Tigers, left arm spinner Simaant Dube was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 3-18 in four overs. Tushar Chate and Siddhesh Gavande claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Aruprit Tigers made light work of the run chase as they completed the formalities in just 9.4 overs. The opening pair of Ajay Singham and Aakash Jangid stitched a 79-run partnership to set the tone. While Singham top scored with 46 runs off 19 balls, Jangid muscled 42 runs off 27 balls. On the other hand, for Saraswat Bank, Ranjit Nalwade was the lone wicket taker as he struck with 2-19 in two overs.

Aruprit Tigers beat Saraswat Bank by eight wickets during the Thanevaibhav Corporate Tournament. Simaant Dube, Ajay Singham and Aakash Jangid were the top performers of the match.

Mumbai: Prateek Yadav’s played a match-winning knock of 76 runs which helped Victory Cricket Club register a 6-wicket win against National Cricket Club in a Group-E match of the 2nd LNCC OMNI Global Invitational Under-22 Invitation Cricket Tournament 2021-2022, organized by Lord Northbrook CC under the aegis of Mumbai Cricket Association, and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

Victory CC powered by Yadav’s innings which came from 69 balls and contained 8 hits to the boundary ropes and 5 well-timed sixes, managed to surpass the winning target reaching 210 for 4 wickets in 35.1 overs.

Earlier, National CC preferring to bat first was dismissed for 208 runs in 40 overs.  Saksham Parashar scored 76 runs (69-balls, 6x4s, 3x6s) and Aayush Vartak made 35 runs, while Victory CC bowler Shashwat Jagtap claimed 3 wickets for 50 runs.

Prateek was later declared the ‘Man of the Match’.

Brief scores: National CC 208 all out, 40 overs (Saksham Parashar 76, Aayush Vartak 35; Shashwat Jagtap 3/50) lost to Victory CC 210 for 4 wickets, 35.1 overs (Prateek Yadav 76). Result: Victory CC won by 6 wickets.

One of the most popular leather ball cricket tournaments of Thane- TPL which stands for Thane Premier League kickstarts from 1st of May, 2022. The 10th Edition of TPL begins from 1st May, 2022 where in 16 teams will participate for the marquee tournament. It’s an 8 day fiesta where in all the matches will be played in T20 Format at the iconic Dadaji Konddev Stadium in Thane. The finals will be played on 8th May, 2022.

This tournament is a perfect mix wherein established Ranji and India Level Cricketers will hone the stage while at the same time there will be influx of youth who will get a platform to perform.  The 10th Edition of TPL will witness India & Ranji level players like  Akhil Herwadkar, Chinmay Sutar, Kaustubh Pawar. In the match between Young Comrade Cricket Club and Parkophene Cricketers of Purushottam Shield Tournament wherein the latter won both the toss and the match! Parkophene Cricketers who won the toss elected to bat first and won by a margin of massive 150 runs! The team scored 338 runs in 70 overs as their batter Roneet Thakur scored 63 runs along with Akshat Jain’s 102 runs losing their 8 wickets. As the Young Comrade came out to bat, they all were dismissed at 185 in only 33.5 overs, though Yogesh Dongare and Mayuresh Tandel scored 62 and 52 runs respectively, their team could not achieve what they wanted to!

 In the Active Sports India Corporate Tournament , the match played between UCC Mumbai and Gavdevi Sports Navghar at Vadunavghar Cricket Ground, Bhiwandi resulted in the win of the latter team whereas UCC Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 237 runs in 35 overs  at the loss of 8 wickets in which Abhijit Shirke scored 47 runs in 62 balls.

Jeet Patil and Shivam Gupta took 2 wickets each. As the Gavdevi Sports Navghar came out to bat, they finished the match by scoring 241 runs in only 39 overs and at the loss of a minimal of 6 wickets by Shivam Gupta’s 66 runs in 59 balls with the aid of 10 fours! Rohit Patil had too scored 42 runs in 23 balls. Parag Penjarkar of UCC Mumbai took 2 wickets, but did not help them win this match.

Mumbai:  Half-century knocks from Aryan Chauhan 75 runs and Tejas Chalke unbeaten 58 runs helped Young Maharashtra CC to a 6-wicket win against New Hind CC in a quarter-final match of the MCA Under-19 Cricket Tournament 2021-22, organized by Mangrol Sports Club in association with Pulse Sports Events Entertainment and played at the National CC ground, Cross Maidan.

Preferring to bat first, New Hind scored 220 for 7 wickets in 39 overs. Yaseen Saudagar 59 runs, Vasim Khan 45 runs, and Tanay Khandeshi 35 not out, contributed to the New Hind total. Later, Young Maharashtra easily chased the target reaching 221 for 4 wickets in 34 overs. Besides the fine efforts of Chauhan and Chalke the other batsman who contributed to the win was Umar Khan with a useful 36 runs.

In another match, Parsee Gymkhana defeated Mangrol Sports Club by 9 wickets. Mangrol SC were bowled out cheaply for 71 runs in 20.2 overs, Parshad Bodke scoring 44 runs and Nishit Bhalla taking 5 wickets for 15 runs and Hardik Yadav claiming 3 wickets for 3 runs. Parsee Gymkhana comfortably chased the target reaching 74 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket in 7.2 overs. Nutan Goel remained unbeaten with a 59-run knock.

Mangrol Sports Club 71 all out, 20.2 overs (Parshad Bodke 44; Nishit Bhalla 5/15, Hardik Yadav 3/3) lost to Parsee Gymkhana 74 for 1, 7.2 overs (Nutan Goel 59 not out). Result: Parsee Gymkhana won by 9 wickets.

Mumbai: Teenager Shravan Mhatre produced a strong batting performance smashing 169 runs which lifted United Cricket Club to a huge 189-run win against Shahpur Spencer Challenge Shield CC in a Group-D section match of the MCA Dr. H.D. Kanga knockout cricket tournament 2022, and played at the United Cricketers ground, Cross Maidan.

After deciding to bat first, United CC bolstered by 16-year-old Shravan’s towering knock, which came from 119-balls, and included 20 boundaries and 3 sixes, amassed a huge total of 304 runs all out in 44.1 overs. Shahpur Spencer’s bowler Siraj Khan claimed 4 wickets for 33 runs. Shahpur Spencer batters failed to put up a fight and their innings collapsed for 115 runs all out in 29.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Royal Cricket Club riding on the centuries from Bhawesh Pawar 132 runs and Suyash Gheghde 110 runs piled up a huge total of 398 for 8 wickets in 45 overs. Mandar Garude added 51 runs while Vijay Patil 3 for 66 was Daiwadnya’s only successful bowler. In reply, Daiwadnya CC was dismissed for 121 runs in 23 overs. Royal CC all-rounder Mandar Garude claimed 5 for 45 runs to complete Royal’s win by 277 runs.

In another one-sided match, Catholic Gymkhana registered an 8-wicket win against Chembur Gymkhana. Batting first, Chembur Gymkhana innings folded at 105 all out in 22.3 overs. In reponse, Catholic Gymkhana lost 2 wickets in reaching 107 in just 12 overs. Anant Malwankar was the top-scorer with an unbeaten 64 runs to see Catholic Gymkhana reach home.

In another match, the combined efforts of Sandeep Shinde who claimed 5 wickets for 25 runs and Narendra Ambavkar unbeaten knock of 64 runs guided Jolly Friends CC to a 9-wicket victory against Thane SC at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan.

Brief scores – Group-D: Chembur Gymkhana 105 all out, 22.3 overs (Raj Gill 49 not out) lost to Catholic Gymkhana 107 for 2 wickets, 12 overs (Anant Malwankar 64 not out). Result: Catholic Gymkhana won by 8 wickets.

Sporting Union Club 128 all out, 30.5 overs lost to Anushakti Nagar S & RC 129 for 6 wickets, 26.2 overs (Darshan Adarkar 35, Dhruv Satam 32). Result: Anushakti Nagar won by 4 wickets.

Bombay Union SC 197 for 9 wickets, 45 overs (Pratik Jadhav 43, Sangram Shirke 42) beat Friends CC 175 all out, 42.2 overs (Manan Bhatt 46, Palash Pawar 31). Result: Bombay Union SC won by 22 runs.

Young Social CC 241 for 4 wickets, 45 overs (Suraj Kadwadkar 60, Nilay Daga 56 not out, Rutvik Pednekar 42, Malhar Mane 40) beat Challengers CC 81 all out, 23.2 overs (Sahil Purohit 6/23). Result: Young Social CC won by 160 runs.
