The Knights had a solid start with their openers, Faisal Patel and Sanjeev Sularia, forming a formidable partnership of 84 runs in just 7 overs. Faisal Patel was the star performer, smashing 48 runs off 34 deliveries, including 5 fours and 6 towering sixes. In reply to Young Zoroastrian, Azad Maidan Centre’s 1st Innings total of 285 all out in 68.3 overs, Nerul Gymkhana, Nerul Centre in their first essay were dismissed for 239 all out in 77.2 overs at the MCA SRT ground-1, Kandivali on Monday. Nerul Centre’s batters Pradhyankur Bhalerao 79 runs and Sudhan Sundarraj 47 runs tried to lift their innings but Zoroastrians bowler Nikhil Verma 3 for 39 ensured his team gained the crucial 1st innings lead and advanced to the final.

For those in the know, especially those familiar with the well-known brand of Marathi cricket, so to say, Dwarkanath Sanzgiri, affectionately called ‘Pappu’ is a well-known cricket scribe. His book on Sachin Tendulkar ‘Shatkant Ekach’ in Marathi and Adaptation in English titled, ‘Scintilating Sachin’, story beyond the stats. The books are being published by Granthali Publications.
More significantly, a glittering ceremony celebrating the Golden Boy of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar will be held at Shanmukhananda Hall, Sion on June 2 from 6.30 pm.
