The 3rd edition of Ajit Ghosh Memorial Trophy Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament under the Aegis of Mumbai Cricket Association organized by Sporting Union Club and Kalyandas Memorial Sports Foundation arranged a match between rival factions Glorious CC and Sporting Club Thane at Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Glorious CC entered the field and took over the reins of batting. The team scored 115/8 in 18 overs. Shraddha Shetty scored a tremendous half century up the order. She was well supported by Mithali Mhatre who scored 39 runs taking the team to a competitive total. 

As the run chase began, Sporting Club Thane found themselves losing timely wickets. Sporting Club Thane closed the match with a score of 103/6.  Mithale Mhatre contributed with the ball as well and picked up 2 wickets alongside Samruddhi Ghare for Glorious CC. Ultimately, Glorious CC successfully defended the target by 12 runs. For her half century, Shraddha Shetty was awarded the Woman of the Match.

Payyade SC elected to bat first and scored a competitive total of 104/8 in 17 overs.  Tanisha Gaikwad scored 27 while Samruddhi Ghare and Janhavi Nigade picked up 2 wickets each. With a target to defend, the Payyade SC bowlers didn’t leave any stone unturned. Mahi Thakkar and Akshara Pillai picked up 2 wickets each with an incredible economy. In a sleek manner, Payyade SC emerged victorious over Glorious CC by 13 runs. Mahi Thakkar was rightfully adjudged as the Woman of the Match for her match winning spell.

The 3rd edition of Ajit Ghosh Memorial Trophy Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament under the Aegis of Mumbai Cricket Association organized by Sporting Union Club and Kalyandas Memorial Sports Foundation organized a match between Vijay Cricket Club and Sports Field CC. Vijay Cricket Club elected to bat first ad they entered the field of Shivaji Park Gymkhana. The team scored 96 runs at the loss of 10 wickets in 19.2 overs. Riva Chaudhari from Vijay CC hit half a century with a score of 56 runs but the lone warrior had no support. The Bowlers exhibited exceptional performance as Reshma Naik, Fatima Jaffer, and Samruddhi Rawool picked up 2 wickets each. 

In the run chase, Punam Raut scored 41* runs and Shaheen Abdulla scored 38 runs.  and helped Sports Field CC claim victory by 8 wickets. The Sports field Cricket Club secured the win at the loss of 2 wickets in 14.5 overs. For her exceptional spell of 2/16 in 4 overs, Fatima Jaffer was awarded as the Woman of the Match.

Dahisar SC elected to bat first but were restricted to a subpar 66. Losing 8 wickets in the process, no batsmen was able to counter the bowling of Sports Field CC. Samruddhi Rawool bowled an exceptional spell of 2/13 which ultimately awarded her the Woman of the Match. Sports Field CCchased down the target at the loss of just 3 wickets in 11.1 overs in the. Kritika Krishnakumar from Sportsfield CC scored 28 winning the game smoothly.

Cricketers from Police Gymkhana elected to bat as they entered the Shivaji Park Gymkhana field. The team made a score of 109/7 in 17 overs. Nidhi Buley scored 35 runs for Police Gymkhana. Riddhi Katecha was the pick of the bowlers forPayyade SC as she picked up 2 wickets. The Payyade SC girls got close to the target but where short by 8 runs in the end. Sheral Rozario and Manasi Bodke picked up 2 wickets each. All rounder Nidhi Buley was honoured as the Woman of the Match.

The third edition of the Ajit Ghosh Memorial Trophy (T20 Women’s Cricket Tournament) is underway. Under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association, Sporting Union Club and Kalyandas Memorial Sports Foundation have organised this tournament.

On November 15, Sporting Union Club locked horns against Vijay Cricket Club at Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Batting first, Vijay Cricket Club posted 108/6 in 16 overs. Opening batter Riya Chaudhary top-scored with 32 off 28, including three boundaries. On the other hand, Mansi Patil was the most successful bowler for Sporting Union Club as she claimed 17/2 in four overs.

In response, Sporting Union Club almost chased down the total, scoring 99/5 in 16 overs. They fell shy of just nine runs in the end. Siddheshwari Pagdhare led the run chase from the front with a 30-ball 34. However, she failed to take her team home. For Vijay Cricket Club, Batul Pareira and Jagravi Pawar accounted for two wickets each. Early in the day, Pawar scored an undefeated run-a-ball 23, batting at number three.

Vijay Cricket Club’s Jagravi Pawar won the player of the match award for her stellar all-round performance.

On November 16, Sporting Union Club and Sportsfield Cricket Club played against each other at Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Batting first, Sportsfield Cricket Club posted 127/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Aachal Valanju’s half-century. Valanju opened the batting and smashed 50 off 44, including six boundaries. On the other hand, Lakisha Labdhe was the lone wicket-taker for Sporting Union Club as she claimed 22/4 in three overs.

In reply, Sporting Union Club scored 91/7, losing the match by 36 runs. Mahak Mistri top-scored with 28 off 40, after Siddheshwari Pagdhare, provided a steady start with 23 off 17. For Sportsfield Cricket Club, Samruddhi Rawool was the pick of the bowlers as she scalped 15/2 in four overs.

Sportsfield Cricket Club’s Aachal Valanju clinched the player of the match award for her delectable half-century.

Riding on twin half-centuries from Janhavi Kate and Jagravi Pawar, Vijay Cricket Club posted 179/3 in 20 overs. Kate, who opened the batting, muscled 67 off 41, including 11 boundaries. On the other hand, Pawar, batting at number three, blasted 66 not out off 45, including eight boundaries and a six. For Dahisar Sports Club, Samiya Husain, Shrushti Shilkar, and Pranali Redekar chipped in with one scalp each.

Chasing a mammoth 180, Dahisar Sports Club were reduced to 104/8 in 20 overs. They lost the match by 75 runs. Radhika Thakkar (29 runs off 29 balls) and Priyanka Golipkar (31 runs off 26 balls) fought hard but failed to see their side home. For Vijay Cricket Club, Kate wreaked havoc, picking up 11/4 in four overs.

Vijay Cricket Club’s Janhavi Kate bagged the player of the match award for her match-winning all-round performance.

Riya Salunkhe (26 runs off 30 balls) and Karuna Sakpal (26 not out off 26 balls) starred with the bat. For Mumbai Police Gymkhana, Sheral Rozario, Nidhi Buley, and Manasi Bodke claimed one wicket each.

In response, Mumbai Police Gymkhana made light work of the run chase, completing the formalities in 16.1 overs with eight wickets in hand. Kshama Patekar was at the helm of the run chase as she muscled an undefeated 50 off 51. The opening batter hammered seven boundaries. For Glorious Cricket Club, Disha Chandak and Prisha Deorukhkar claimed one wicket each.

Niviya Ambre scored 59 off 49, including seven boundaries and a six. For Payyade Sports Club, Riddhi Kotecha was the pick of the bowlers with 17/2 in three overs.

In reply, Payyade Sports Club overhauled the target in 16 overs with seven wickets in hand. Khushi Bhatia led the run chase from the front with 39 off 42, including five boundaries. Saima Thakor also made a valuable contribution of 35 not out from 26 balls, hitting three boundaries. Early in the day, Thakor claimed 6/1 in four overs, opening the bowling. She was the most economical bowler. For Sporting Club Committee, Anisha Shetty and Esha Verma accounted for one scalp apiece.

Payyade Sports Club’s Saima Thakor won the player of the match award for her all-round performance.
